We took the vegan cooking class…..it was like getting to learn that old “secret family recipe” that everyone loves! We learned by watching and writing down important tips as Kedi ( and her partner) talked about the ingredients, when to add them, and how important quality spices are. We also helped chop, add ingredients and of course took turns stirring the mixture so we could feel and smell the difference as the food changed textures and smells during the cooking process. We got to see how the Injera is cooked and once everything was all was done, Kedi presented a taste of our dish in the traditional way for all to share. The red lentil (Miser wet) was so flavourful with just the right amount of heat! We are going back for another class. The commercial kitchen is in the lower level of a home (turned business) and is large enough for 4-6 people to watch, participate and learn. Don’t forget to bring your note pad you’ll want to write all Kedi’s tips and recipes down on paper. We also bought the spices so we could create the dish at home!!
Parking: Parking on the street in front of the house. So around to the back to enter to the down stairs kitchen.
Incredible service and foodThank you for your hospitality
Love this place. We went last night. The owners are wonderful and take pride in their food, heritage, and restaurant. We had an amazing experience here. The food is to die for. The flavors are the best Ethiopian we've had in Edmonton. Definitely will be back. THIS IS A MUST TRY IN EDMONTON
First experience with Ethiopian cuisine. My first instinct was a bit skeptical since I've never been to a restaurant inside a house before, but maybe I should go to more house restaurants since it was a great experience all around. The food is seriously tasty. We ordered 1 each of the beef, chicken, red lentil, and yellow lentil. Everything was delicious, and the sauce on the chicken is amazing. Not even sure how to describe it but I'd say it's kind of like Indian and Mexican fusion. You all sit and eat from the same plate with your hands by scooping with teff flat breads. It's incredibly filling, but not the gross heavy feeling like pasta or something.Highly recommended!!
Owner is very helpful explaining the different ingredients and what they are used for.
Truly awesome food and its at a decent price too. I love Ethiopian and they make it like you have your own Ethiopian mom and dad making the food for you. They're pretty fast too.
Excellent food. Vegan dishes available. Healthy home made cooking vibe.
Awesome friendly staff, great food that can't be beat anywhere else and overall a great pleasant place.
Interesting location in a repurposed duplex. The furnishings are a bit uncomfortable after a time and the location is not where you would expect to find a restaurant but don't be put off by either. The food was very good and the service was very friendly and extremely accommodating for one of our group of 4 who is celiac. The cook was very aware of gluten intolerance issues and took extra care to avoid cross contamination on everything. She apologized that they could have made gluten-free bread if we had made reservations earlier in the week because it takes three days to "ferment" the dough. All in All, the food was good the service excellent and the (street) parking free. also...FYI: they are licensed to serve wine and beer.Bottom line is: We would go again.
Awesome, friendly owner and a delicious food experience.

It's in a house in west Edmonton. Nothing fancy--it all goes into the food. The food is fabulous. Very warm helpful service. Do yourself a favour and try the vegan platter. Even my most carnivorous friends love it. I also love the Ethiopian spiced coffee as well.
Small place but warm and cozy feeling. The husband and wife welcomed us and explained all their dishes. Quite an wonderful experience and very good food. Injira was awesome !
The hospitality of this place was beyond compare I felt nurtured and cared for by the very friendly hosts and the food was amazing! She catered to the needs of my friend who suffers from celiac disease diligently and was thoughtful about my vegetarian needs. Amazing place will be back again.
