OPA! of Greece U of A SUB Food Court

This review is a long time coming, a few months ago my husband and I went for lunch and had 2 orders of the calamari. It was amazing. The portions were huge, very well made, service was excellent. The couple that served us, I am assuming they’re a couple, we’re so nice. It is the only Opa I will go to now. They even gave me extra tzatziki at no charge.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to clean the kitchen, washing items with soap and removing dirty water etc. right next to where food is being prepared, especially in a small space. This happened to me today. I do APPRECIATE that you accepted my order and I understand it was probably close to closing time. However, I lost my appetite seeing all the cleaning happening so close to where my food was being made. I would honestly prefer if you let me know you’re closing and won’t be able to take orders, rather than preparing food while doing a full clean-up right next to it.

Amazing staff, always smiling and kind. They work quickly and deal with unkind customers well. While waiting for my falafel bites, a student ordered the fries and a wrap and they got mad since they did not read the menu that it came with fries. I suppose they wanted rice. The staff went above and beyond and offered to exchange the fries for rice, even if it was the customers mistake.

The prices are high for the portion size, but that is not the employees fault. That is the fault of Dorrie Karras (CEO) of OPA and the franchise as a whole.

Best fries on campus!!

Other options are also good but a bit expensive with the portion they give. E.g. Pita wrap tastes nice but the price and portion doesn't match. Good for snacks

The atmosphere and the staff are very accommodating, opa has been my go to for 3 years and this branch never disappoints, the lady at the front is so professional as well as the staff.

The woman at the front was SO RUDE. She literally was shouting at the other workers. AND THEY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO ASK FOR TIPS on the card machine. Not with that despicable customer service. Also they have SEVERELY REDUCED their PORTION SIZES. They charged me $10 for a tiny pita wrap barely larger than a McDouble at McDonald’s. And they refuse to give water cups.

HORRIBLE VALUE for your money. The wrap in the picture was a whopping TEN DOLLARS. I finished it in like 2 bites.

The lady at the front was not nice! Very condescending. Paid $11 for 4 chunks of beef and a handful of fries. Nothing like the image! Had specks of green pepper.

The lady who handles orders is consistently rude and unprofessional. I used to enjoy coming to this location but I won’t be returning, nor do I recommend anyone who values being treated with common decency do so. The lady at the front has an incredibly rude tone when speaking with customers for no reason whatsoever, this has happened at each of my last 5 visits. The experience feels as though I’m bothering her by trying to order. Avoid this location if possible, purely because of this employee’s behaviour (which is reoccurring). I can tell by various other reviews that are on here that NOTHING has been done to change this pattern of behaviour that has been noticed by many and is ruining the locations reputation among campus goers.

They don’t give out free water. They’ve also raised their prices a ton.

I was here to get some fries on fri- Feb 22 and dealt with Such a rude and unprofessional lady at the front. She was literally giving me attitude and unwelcoming facial expressions and then she started speaking her language with another two guys, laughing hysterically and I could clearly see that she was saying something about me.
