I am a regular at OJ's...the food is great, service great, good value, Thursday's offers half price wine!!! Generally an older crowd. Laid back atmosphere... home town local eatery feel. Recommended.

Can someone please teach the cooks how to deep fry onion rings? They're ALWAYS way overcooked and cut up my mouth. They cook them rock hard. I don't like how dark it is there either. They need more lighting. There's lounge lighting, and then there's candle lit bath lighting. People don't wanna eat in restaurants with the same level of light as a candle lit bath lol. That's why the 2 stars for atmosphere. I've never been in a restaurant or even a night club or lounge that is this dark. Also not impressed by the change in quality of the food since covid. They used to use a nice brioche bun for the sandwich and now they just use a dollar store hamburger bun and it's too soggy made that way.

Good local spot but the food quality has gone down over the last while.
We have been regular Monday night customers for a long time. Who's ever working in the kitchen couldn't seem to get our order correctly for a long time until tonight and then the fish was burnt and old on the fish tacos. Also, the plating was terrible. My chicken sandwich bottom bun was placed in a pool of gravy. Really difficult to eat.
I hope the management addresses the Monday night kitchen staff issue.

Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere! Been a regular for 10 years now, and they have a phenomenal outdoor patio, as well as a convenient location downtown (right off 124st and near Jasper Ave). The staff is always incredibly kind. Thank you for always being exceptional!

I recently visited *Original Jokes* on 125th Street and 102nd Avenue, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had hoped.
The chicken wings were extremely dry and hard — so much so that if you didn’t have strong teeth, you wouldn’t stand a chance of eating them. They weren’t just overcooked; they had the texture and taste of something that might have been cooked the day before and reheated. The French fries didn’t fare much better — hard, small, stale, and just as disappointing.
I wasn’t the only one who noticed. Another patron sitting nearby returned his wings for the exact same reason and opted for a different dish altogether. I, on the other hand, was starving, so I powered through and ate mine without complaining — but it certainly wasn’t enjoyable. If I was the chef I wouldn't allowed those items to leave my kitchen.
For a place with such a catchy name, I expected something fresh and flavorful. Instead, the food felt like the punchline of a bad joke. #DataDiggerDon

Had a great time at Original Joe’s enjoying burgers with my family. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right, with fresh toppings and perfectly toasted buns. The atmosphere was relaxed and family-friendly, and the service was attentive without being rushed. A wonderful place to enjoy a casual, tasty meal together — we’ll definitely be back!
