We love Otto! Their selection of drinks is huge, including lots of great non-alcoholic options. I love the atmosphere and friendly, laid-back vibe. The food is always top notch and super consistent every time we go. I always get the schnitzel (it’s amazing) and am a big fan of their potato salad and red cabbage sides. We tried the bitterballen and it reminded us fondly of our last trip to Amsterdam. All around it’s always a great experience whether it’s a special occasion, bringing out of town guest, or just a weeknight dinner out.

Incredible food! Our group of 7 tried nearly everything on the menu and honestly loved everything and it was the perfect sized family-style meal. A lot of gluten free options—most of the menu was GF. They are an excellent pillar of the community and a fun spot to check out! Oh, and awesome drinks too!

The tulip sandwich experience is 5+, the tuna melt has a little bit of sliced radish and onion and grilled green onion, but cuts through the richness and gooey of the tuna melt part in a truly wonderful way. The other sandwiches are also amazingly excellent.

Family took us to Otto a few summers ago and now we have to go everytime we are in town. Amazing service and food.

So cool to see a unique menu in this city. The food and drinks are always consistent and the trivia nights are wild.

Have to give a shout out to Tess who is such a wonderful charismatic part of this place.

Otto deserves every bit of success that comes their way

I didn’t understand how a place with this many reviews could sit at 4.8 stars; a feat that’s difficult for any restaurant. I finally got my answer. What I came here expecting:

-Excellent sausage

What I got:

-Excellent sausage
-The best fish and chips I’ve had in the city
-The best mac and cheese I’ve had in the city
-The best fries I’ve had in the city

The restaurant also has a great ambiance, with lovely medium lighting, rich wood furnishings and music that doesn’t drown out conversation. We were also blown away by the price of everything, which was extremely reasonable for all the food we ordered.
Owners, if you’re reading this: please do not change a single thing with your existing recipes like so many other places. You managed to hit the nail on the head for every single thing. Please keep it that way. You have something rare and amazing.

The schnitzel sandwich remains an elusive catch as I didn't know about it on my last visit and it wasn't available this time, for Octoberfest. Garden space expansion makes for a transcendent food heaven retreat during the summer.

$12 for a sausage that I can throw on the grill at home is a RIP OFF! Just another typical poor value restaurant in Edmonton - with high prices and mediocre quality.

What is the customer actually paying for? A non-cook to put your $12 sausage into a bun and hand it to you (expecting a tip for that 'service' of course)? To pay a teenager to lower the french fries into and out of a deep fryer, that a five year old year old child could perform? I stopped going to restaurants in Edmonton altogether because they're so hit and miss - with mostly miss. High prices, with the 'standard' being 'mediocre to atrocious' food quality, where you feel you're being swindled.

I enjoyed my first visit to OTTO! I selected a variety of sides, bread and a lovely drink. The House Salad was very tasty and was quite dressed up with cranberries, feta, lentils, etc. The fries were crisp and light. The Mac and Cheese was a bit too cheesy for me, but still nice. My Sour Cherry Italian Soda was really good. The $2 bread was huge and very good value for money.

Even better than the food was the great service and the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant. There was plenty of on street parking available.

I left the restaurant comfortably full and am excited to return again to try the pretzel.

1st time there got food poisoning from undercooked sausage, brought it up with the owner, was told this shouldn't happen (obviously) and that they temp check every sausage that comes out of their kitchen. Aside from that, nothing was done to compensate me for my literally shitty experience. I may have been back, but that was enough for me. *pic not me just to give a specific idea of what it was like for about 3 hours of that night*
