Really good food at a very reasonable price. Dining in is nice, casual, and calm.

I've been to this restaurant several times over the years. Back then there was more than 1 location, and all were great. I decided to drop by today and have their vermicelli. Sadly, the ingredients and quality changed drastically.
They substitute ground meat for a couple of the main ingredients. The food was not hot, in fact the only grilled meat on the dish was a bit cold.
The atmosphere isn't too appealing either. Staff seem busy and don't really make you feel welcome.
The restaurant needs better ventilation as it is musty inside. There were also few small bugs flying around.
The only friendly interaction was when I was paying my bill.

I love this place. The family and I eat here at least 1 time a month. It's fantastic value for the quantity when feeding 6 people, and I feel it's worth every dollar. The staff is fast and friendly. We have been eating here for over 24 years now. I hope many, many more.

Save yourself the food posing. The location was very unsanitary. Ordered chicken wings. They were raw when they first came out. Had to bring them to the counter as no one came to the table at all to see how things were going. When the wings came back, the wing that had a bite taken out of it was just deep-fried agian and the wings were still raw. The lemongrass chicken vermicelli was okay. The beef satay was okay at best very different with chunks of broth powder not dissolved. No hand sanitizer worked. And the staff was very short and not friendly at all.

Large portion sizes and each dish was full of ingredients. Good value for your hard earned dollars. Had a decent amount left over for lunch the next day!! Lots of seating and service was fast.

I have updated my review because Pagolac WAS the absolute best Beef Satay soup. In the last year, portion sizes changed, prices increased, and the once flavourful thick and creamy broth is now watery and bland. I am very disappointed in these changes. Our family has been going here for decades. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

I’ve been going to Pagolac since the original downtown location for 30 years.
The food has always been consistently great.
I’m not sure why anyone would say the pho is great as I’ve always known Pagolac to be the best for vermicelli and rice combos.
Number 68, 5 combination vermicelli has always been the best.
If you’re adventurous, order 88 which is the 5 combination on rice but ask them to “ketchup fry the rice” for an extra cost. It’s the “hidden” menu.
I didn’t leave any pictures as the food is consistently great.
Also order salad rolls. This is the only place that makes authentic salad rolls. “Pork or shrimp?” Is what you get asked at other places, the original comes with shrimp and pork. No need to consider.
Best Vietnamese vermicelli place hands down, 30 years.

I started going here years ago. Recently ordered take out after not being there for a few years… The pho I ordered there wasn’t a lot of meat compared to other places I go. I enjoyed the flavours otherwise the pho was good. I think they have amazing Vietnamese spring rolls and the green onion cake was about average. Vietnamese food used to be great value for the money but it’s more noodles these days… quite the mark up I think…
