Great quality food for reasonable prices. It’s a little less busy than Japanese restaurants on Whyte which is nice if you are looking for a quieter atmosphere.
I often bring family or friends here as the food is good and it has comfy booth seating.
I always get sashimi and it never disappoints. Come here if you’re looking for a nice Japanese food spot with an easy parking situation.

Atmosphere was comfortable, service was friendly, and the katsu curry set I had was mind-blowingly good. I am absolutely returning and I hope all of my friends get their fill of this place someday

I tried Sakana on a trip to Edmonton after a recommendation and I have to say that I will be back. It was definitely in the top 5 of Sushi dining. I travel regularly for work and love sushi so i have lots to compare too, make sure to try the baked scallop appetizer.

The food was AMAZING! My only complaint about it would be that the "crab & roe salad" should be called "IMITATION crab & roe salad". No wonder it was so cheap, but it was still delicious!

I also had the rainbow roll and it was pretty spectacular.

The lady serving seemed a bit overwhelmed and was slow even though only 3 to 4 tables hence the lower rating, but we did get in and out in an hour for lunch.

The low rating for atmosphere is because there were a couple of tables that had music or videos playing loudly and competed with the music playing in the restaurant.

All in all, will definitely be getting food there again, it just might be takeout to get the 8% discount!

One of our favourite sushi spots in Edmonton! While it can get crazy busy, Justin manages to make consistently good sushi!

I just wanted a quick snack to share with my child so I ordered the Chop Chop and Dynamite Cones as well as a rainbow roll for pick up. Total with tax was just over $24. The cones looked stuffed on the top. My cousin was visiting so I didn't get a chance to try either one but they both loved them. The rainbow was good as well.
Will definitely order from here again and leave a more detailed review once I've actually had more than just one bite. :)

I recently visited Sakana Japanese cuisine sushi restaurant in Edmonton, and I was thoroughly impressed! I ordered the avocado roll, snapper roll, and California rolls, which were the largest and most filling options for my dinner. The total cost, including tip, was $65 for two people, and we left feeling completely satisfied.

The avocado roll was creamy and delicious, with fresh avocado wrapped in sushi rice and seaweed. The snapper roll was equally impressive, with grilled snapper adding a nice smoky flavor to the dish. But the California rolls were the real stars of the show - they were massive and packed with flavor, with a generous serving of sushi rice, avocado, cucumber, and crab meat.

Overall, I was extremely pleased with my experience at Sakana Japanese cuisine sushi restaurant. The food was fresh, delicious, and filling, and the prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great sushi meal in Edmonton.

Parking: There is a large parking lot here way more than the business needs.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp.

The Japanese kitchen is one of my favorites, I tried at least 20 Japanese restaurants in the Calgary and Edmonton area. But none of them get close to Sakana sushi, still #1 on my list.

Interior is more or less the standard western-japanese restaurant, menu is standard and not much creativity, but the good that comes out is quite high quality.I don't really have a reason to come back unfortunately since there are more interesting places to go for sushi.
