Sam Wok used to be my family's go-to. Service was excellent. The last time we visited, the wontons were undercooked and rancit. We've stayed away since then.
But I still recommend this place due to the service. Going to try again soon.

Mom wanted to come here because in her memory it was very popular when it was at its Whyte Ave location.
She was very disappointed in it because even though the name is the same, the quality and flavor has gone down so much. Initially the prices look cheap compared to other similar chinese restaurants, but it's because the portion sizes are much smaller. Usually chinese places portions are good for sharing, but they make theirs single serving.
The food looks good at first glance but the taste is just not there. It's either bland or salty. There are much better chinese places to dine at that have better value and taste.

Been going to Sam Wok since it was located by Whyte Avenue. The food is consistently good, priced well. Favourite dishes are their beef and broccoli, peaches shrimp, hot and sour soup, wor wonton soup, ginger beef. Consistent flavour and quality of dishes for decades.

The price for my Chicken Chow Main was reasonable but it was a bowl of noodles with very little Chicken and less vegetables. 2 out of 10 Spring rolls very little stuffing 3 out 10. I would not repeat.
