The dishes are priced reasonably and the dishes, sweet and sour pork - was tasty, fried just right, and the beef and flat noodles tasted good. This is one of those restaurants that isn’t much to look at but the food is tasty for a quick bite. They used to be closer to whyte avenue off Calgary Trail years ago and quite a popular place for Whyte Avenue shoppers. Now the Days Inn patrons get to enjoy the fare at Sam Wok. Quick and friendly service.
We stopped by Sam Wok Restaurant for late lunch and ordered Sizzling Shanghai Noodles with Beef in Szechuan Sauce on Hot Plate (this dish came out sizzling hot and very flavourful), Vegetables with Fresh Scallops, Shrimp & Squid (this yummy dish was packed with fresh seafood and vegetables) and House Special Fried Rice (this special dish was loaded with vegetables, shrimp, egg and ‘char siew’). If you're after budget-friendly, delicious Chinese cuisine, this spot is worth a visit. Don't expect a fancy ambiance; although it could use some sprucing up, the flavors of the food make up for it.
