Absolutely Outstanding Catering Experience! We recently used Sawmill Banquet & Catering Services for our buffet-style wedding dinner for 30 people, and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience! From the very beginning, Paul’s communication was flawless, prompt, clear, and professional. Every question we had was answered quickly, and they made the planning process completely stress-free. The food was not only delicious but also incredibly generous in portion size, we were expecting just enough for our group, but we ended up with plenty of leftovers, which everyone was thrilled about. It’s rare to find a catering service that provides both quality and quantity, but Sawmill absolutely delivered on both fronts. The team was amazing, friendly, efficient, and clearly experienced. They set everything up perfectly and made sure we had everything we needed. Paul and his crew are legendary, after a little hiccup, they came through in a big way. We are forever grateful for their effort. All our wedding guests complimented the food and how incredible it was. Paul was extremely easy to deal with, always was available for any questions I had, and went above and beyond. The sawmill team was AMAZING, everyone loved the food for our wedding! Nobody was hungry they had seconds and thirds, and we got a ton of leftovers afterwards. I used Sawmill Catering Services for my daughter's wedding and for the follow up evening held for the family only. Both events went very well, prior to and during both evenings. Meals served were excellent and the 2 services offered by Sawmill personnel were done very well and professionally and I really enjoyed doing business with Paul all along from the start to the end. We cannot say enough amazing things about the Sawmill Catering team! It was truly the best decision we made for our wedding day! From planning to the last cleared plate, they were professional, thoughtful, and deeply committed to making our celebration unforgettable.

Paul, the Head Catering Manager, made an immediate connection with my husband (East Coast bonds are strong!) and from that moment on, everything felt easy and personal. Paul was incredibly flexible and approachable, even offering his phone number and email so we could reach him anytime. He helped us craft the perfect menu with so many thoughtful, inclusive options to ensure every dietary need was beautifully accommodated. The amount of care he put into every detail made us feel so supported and seen.

On the day of the wedding, the magic continued with Oliver, our head supervisor. He was sharp, calm, and endlessly efficient. He was running the floor like a total pro while still being warm and polite. Everything flowed so smoothly thanks to his leadership!

And then…Katie and Sarah. Our angels of the kitchen. Not only did they help set up our head table and decorations, but they also helped calm me down as the (slightly overwhelmed) bride. Their kindness and gentle encouragement meant more than I can say. They weren’t just staff, they were a part of the emotional support system that day :)

Philip, our bartender, was another rock star. Patient and chill when things started slow, and then fast, fun, and totally in command once the party picked up. His professionalism never wavered!

And now… THE FOOD. Oh my stars, the food! From the roast beef carving station to the turkey dinner, to the thoughtful vegetarian and vegan options! Every dish was bursting with flavour and made with so much love. The mashed potatoes were creamy perfection. The gravy? Rich and full of life. The salads were fresh, the pasta salad popped with zesty joy, and our guests couldn’t stop going back for seconds...and thirds lol!

And don’t even get me started on the desserts! mousse and cheesecake cups were beautifully decorated and rich with creativity, the fruit was artfully cut, and the tarts and cake bites were little clouds of deliciousness. Everything looked and tasted amazing!

Every single guest raved about the professionalism of the team: how plates were cleared silently, how drinks were always topped up, how courteous and present everyone was. It was truly an exceptional process.

When we announced guests could take leftovers home, they literally cheered. And we were thrilled to donate anything remaining to a local homeless shelter. Nothing went to waste (which was important to us).

And just when everyone thought they couldn’t possibly eat another bite we rolled out a late night snack: a grilled cheese and tomato soup station and a full poutine bar. It hit SO hard haha. People were glowing with joy (and gravy) lol.

After all the fun, Oliver, Katie, Sarah, and Philip cleaned up with lightning speed and disappeared like catering superheroes. Everything was spotless. It was like they were never there.

Paul and his entire team helped make our day what it was, pure magic. Our guests are still talking about the food (and we all know that’s what people remember!).

From the kitchen prep to the front-line service, this team is masterful, heart-led, and in a league of their own.

I had the chance to work a wedding at our own venue which was catered by these folks.
Our venue holds Respire Coffeehouse during the week, and the bride and groom asked for one of our staff to have coffee and teas available for their reception.
I shared the space with Oliver, Sarah, Katie, and Filip. I had a marvelous time, and look forward to recommending Sawmill to anyone I know looking for a caterer.
Excellent food, done to the specifics the couple asked for. A marvelous spread for dinner, and a cheesecake to die for as part of dessert. Tomato bisque and grilled cheese for the late dinner! What?! That was fantastic!!
Offering to-go boxes for the couple as well as myself (I'm set for two days) is a generous and thoughtful way to continue blessing the clients.
I am eager to serve with you folks again, it was an evening to remember.

To mark our 40th Anniversary we had a backyard BBQ. We worked with Paul to coordinate the rental of tents, tables, and chairs from Special Events Rentals. Special thanks to Jamie, Sarah, and Katie who were on site to organize the food and cater to our guests. Food was fantastic, with many of our guests commenting on how tender and tasty the steaks were. The beans also got rave reviews! The Sawmill attended to all the food allergies and our guests were able to enjoy the meal without any worries. Jamie, Sarah, and Katie were totally prepared with assisting guests with mobility issues through the buffet service and made the extra effort to check on them regarding second servings or other needs. Thank you so much for making our special day worry free and a memorable event for us and our guests.

We used Sawmill for catering our wedding, and wow! They did a fantastic job! Paul and Oliver were a pleasure to work with. 0 problems with the entire process, and they even packed up all of our dinnerware after we were done eating!

We had Sawmill Banquet and Catering for our wedding this weekend. Initially we had an issue at the tasting, but Paul Doucette, Manager, dealt with the issues, and went above and beyond to support our wedding. The food was excellent, and the Alberta beef sublime. Every guest stated the food was fantastic, and the personal touch to ensure people with allergies received an appropriate and delicious meal was much appreciated. Would definitely hire Sawmill again for future events.

Paul and the Sawmill team were incredible! We had them cater our wedding and from the planning to the set up to the delivery of the meal they were nothing short of amazing to deal with. Paul is fantastic at replying to all inquiries and is readily available to help. On the actual wedding day, Paul and team picked up our rentals and had started setting up before we even arrived.
