The most amazing Japanese food I have ever had!!!! And to think that I’ve travelled the world, and it’s right in Edmonton Alberta !

I’ve eaten here twice now - once at the restaurant and once for takeout. Both times, I had the Chicken Curry Rice, and honestly, it’s the best I’ve had compared to any other places I’ve tried (the curry sauce is amazing, and the fried chicken is so good). The only thing I wasn’t into was the drink I ordered (Lemon King) - it was a little too sour for me. But honestly, the food alone is a total must-try!

Found a large piece of hard plastic in my sushi, be careful when eating here.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Shoyu Sushi! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and exceptional service. Despite it being a December weekend evening, the restaurant was not overly busy, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable dining atmosphere.

The team at Shoyu Sushi made us feel incredibly welcome, attending to every detail with care and a friendly demeanor. The Japanese rolls were nothing short of amazing—each bite bursting with freshness and flavour. It's clear that a lot of thought and skill goes into their preparation.

The desserts, however, were the perfect way to end the meal. They were so delightful that they deserve special mention. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or just looking for a memorable dining experience, Shoyu Sushi is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

I stopped in for a solo dinner date on a chilly -10° evening on a work trip. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and attentive.

The tuna sashimi was fresh and buttery. The Tokyo roll was incredibly flavourful. The spicy tonkotsu ramen was fantastic. Every dish had me talking to myself, gushing praise.

The only thing taking the atmosphere to a four is the lighting. The overhead lights are just too bright. Something less aggressive and more atmospheric would really round this out to a strong five across the board.

Shoyu is truly a gem. I will be back.

The Spicy Ramen was delicious and flavourful. We liked the sushi rolls we got. We will be back to try other rolls without the sauces. The rice and shrimp were quite fresh. Our server was very attentive and very sweet so we were very happy with the service.

Ordered on Uber Eats. Miso tasted like plastic. The portions were small and the quality of the tuna was terrible.

Two visits so far.
Food quality is top notch. Very fresh, very flavourful, expertly executed. Prompt service, even when it’s busy. Clean establishment.
First visit I came for lunch with my nephew, we each got the bento. Fast service, perfect portions, very reasonable prices.

Second time I came solo for dinner. Service wasn’t overly friendly but was efficient. Ordered the dinner bento so I could sample several items and everything was perfect. Careful presentation, generous portions, excellent quality and freshness. The hot sake was a nice accompaniment to the meal.
I couldn’t finish it and had to take some to go.
I recommend it, and would definitely visit again when in the neighbourhood.
Thanks so much.

Parking: Parking on 109 can be tight. I recommend parking on a side street and walking up.
