The batter on the fish was very light, not greasy at all. Will go back again..

The Halibut is AMAZING!!!! And they are Celiac Safe!!!!! The GF batter is the best I’ve ever had. Winston’s Fish & Chips restaurant does not tack on an extra charge for GF meals like so many other places. Lots of options for GF meals.

Went to try Winston's for the first time. Excited to try it out. Opens at 11am according to Google and the sign on the door. Arrived on a very cold winter day at 11:08. Door was locked and Open sign turned off. Won't try again for awhile. Will adjust my rating once (or if) I actually eat there.

Came in was greeted in a warm friendly manner. The server was attentive without being annoying.
Menu on the table under a plastic cover. Which is nice because it allowed me to look at the menu after ordering.
I had the Haddock and chips.
The fries where great. The haddock portion was big. Hot and really good.
It is a nice restaurant.

Tried Winston Fish & Chips and overall it was an average experience. The food was just okay and didn’t really stand out, so I wasn’t much of a fan. However, the service was genuinely good friendly staff and quick service. With some improvements to the food quality, this place could be a lot better.

First time her. Father being from Scotland asked if there was a Fish & Chips restaurant in the city and found this place. Great service, absolute spot on food, and cozy atmosphere. My dad likes it, came home stuffed. He definitely wants to go back.
You can dine in, take out and I believe they do deliveries. Menu's on top of the tables, underneath the plastic covering. Opening times vary. Parking can be limited but I had no issues finding a spot. Decently priced. We arrived at around 5pm, and it wasn't too busy. Noticed there are board games for kids and adults. It's simple place. I also noticed they have a selection of gluten free foods and some vegetarian foods. May not look fancy to other fish & chips restaurant but, you won't be disappointed with the food!

More of a 3.5. Fish and chips were fine. We had the pollock and the haddock. Good serving sizes (but also a bit more expensive so works out reasonably). A little disappointed in the clam chowder. Not as flavourful as I would have expected. More potato than clam.

The place is fine though. Have had worse and better.

Food was not good. Both myself and my wife were sick that evening and next morning too. Steak pie was especially awful! Pastry was weird! Chips tasted as if they were frozen fries. Very poor!

Love the gluten free fish and chips. They don't charge extra to make the fish GF unlike other places.

Very easy to get gluten-free, no extra charge for gluten-free versions (Very generous!), and I brought my brother along the next time I went to check (He can eat wheat) and he said he thought the batter was rather good comparing to other (wheat) ones he's had. My favorite is definitely the onion rings but the fish and chips and the cheesecake were also very good. (And they were happy to bring us more lemon slices when we asked).

Also the decor is really neat.

One of the best fish and chips places I have been to! In fact, after trying the fish and chips at Winstons we visited London and ordered fish and chips at some local restaurants and found that the fish and chips at Winston's is much better. Service is also excellant.
