Absolutely terrible. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. We ordered pide, but it was basically just like pizza – except pizza is cheaper and bigger. The lahmacun was tiny and disgusting: no meat taste, no vegetable taste, just way too much spice. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY. Even the Turkish restaurant in North is way better than this place.

Went for my dads birthday. Food was great, service was good. I would say if I had one complaint, food was more on the expensive side. I did leave full with some food for lunch. We ordered the Hummus and the Beef & Chicken Kebab!

Absolutely loved Sofra!
Warm, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and the most flavorful Turkish food in Edmonton. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and the hummus was perfection.
Highly recommend!

Had dinner at Sofra tonight and it was worth every penny! Spent about $80 and enjoyed fresh pita with feta dip, tender lamb kebabs, and the most amazing baklava. Warm atmosphere, friendly service, and authentic Turkish flavors. Open 5–9 PM—highly recommend!

Absolutely Loved My Visit to Sofra!
I had the pleasure of dining at Sofra in Edmonton, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed into a warm, cozy space filled with the charm of Turkish décor—beautiful lamps, intricate details, and an inviting atmosphere.
The food was phenomenal! I started with the fresh, fluffy pita and creamy feta dip, which was so delicious I could have eaten it all night. My main was the tender, perfectly seasoned lamb kebabs, and I finished with their baklava—light, flaky, and just the right amount of sweetness. Every bite felt authentic and made with love.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations, which really added to the evening. They’re open from 5 PM to 9 PM, and it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed dinner or special night out.
If you’re looking for authentic Turkish cuisine in Edmonton, I highly recommend Sofra—you won’t be disappointed!

The service was good. The atmosphere is nice. Food is average. It was overpriced for what you get. Not traditional Turkish menu. Interesting combination.

This place was my favourite Turkish place to go to in the past. The food was always cooked to perfection, however this time it was not like
The previous times. The owner is no longer there and the food is not cooked as it was in the past.
I ordered the dip trio with fresh bread, it was good however hummus was on the saltier side this time.
The shrimp and mushroom
Appetizer was quite expensive for 4 shrimps and in my opinion not worth it.
Now, for the main entree the lamb chops I had asked for medium well done. The server at first said he can’t do them well done there not meant to be that well done, anyways I said as long as there cooked. When we received it the lamb chops were uncooked and Pink. The server lied and said I had asked for this, rather then taking things in an professional
Manner he removed them off the plates very angry. Anyways he did remake it and it was actually done the way I had asked. Anyways the service was not at all as it was in the past and food quality has definitely suffered as well. The bulghar was over cooked and a weirde texture. I in the past never minded paying for the prices they charge but not if I don’t get the quality and service defiantly not worth it. The previous owner maintained the consistency and sofras previous owners legendary Turkish food will be missed.

A Culinary Tradition Worth Celebrating
Sofra Turkish Cuisine in Downtown Edmonton has become a cherished tradition for my partner and me—we return every year to celebrate our anniversary, and each time, we’re reminded why this place holds such a special spot in our hearts.
The ambience is warm and inviting, with authentic Turkish decor and perfectly dimmed lighting that sets the tone for a truly intimate dining experience. There’s a magic in the atmosphere—one that transports you straight to Istanbul without ever leaving Edmonton.
This year, we indulged in the Sultan Sofrasi Platter, a magnificent spread of expertly grilled meats that showcased the kitchen’s mastery in every bite. The Helim Peyniri (grilled halloumi cheese) was rich, golden, and perfectly salty, and the Lahmacun—a thin, crisp flatbread topped with seasoned ground beef—was a standout dish we’ll keep coming back for.
A special mention must go to our server, Derek, who was both professional and genuinely passionate about the food and experience. His thoughtful recommendations and warm demeanor added an extra layer of joy to our evening.
If you’re looking for an authentic Turkish experience with exceptional service and unforgettable food, Sofra is a must. It’s more than a meal—it’s a tradition in the making.
