Tried the pies for the first time the other night. I had the Butter Chicken Pie and my wife had the Greek. Both were delicious! Great filling with an amazingly flaky crust. Looking forward to trying more variations soon.
These are best meat pies I have ever tasted. Butter chicken is my favourite. I love them all.
Jamie's pies are great! We have them at home all the time, and excited now I get to have them when I'm out as well.
Better than Irvines
Best meat pies I’ve had in Canada
I've been eating these pies for years. They are delicious, flaky brown pastry with carefully seasoned ingredients. whether it is steak and mushroom, steak and cheese, the ale and steak or the mince variants, or chicken brie camembert, or others, they all hit the spot. They are a handy Friday night meal...or any night you don't have the energy or resources to cook.
We got the poutine pie and the beef pie both of which were excellent. The pie crust was flaky and delicious as was the filling. Amazing place to get harty meals.
This was my second visit brought a friend that wanted to see it
I recently discovered and received some meat pies from South Island Pie Co. AMAZING! They were packaged safely and stayed frozen until I could get them into the freezer. The filling was not dry but not too wet that the pastry fell apart like many meat pies do. I highly recommend trying them out if you are interested in a variety of tasty fillings and flaky crusts. I am now a lifelong customer. Thank you SIPC!
Higher cost for craft baked goods, including individual pies, packages of sausage rolls, spring rolls, etc. Produce is frozen, so don't stop in here on your way to a potluck! I have enjoyed most of what I've tried here, but be careful with allergies like onions.
The pies were amazing-very tasty, flaky and loaded. My only concern was that they were shipped without an ice pack, in a cardboard box, for the 2 days it took to be delivered.Frozen meat/pies that get thawed and need to be refrozen, and being shipped without any insulation or ice packs or dry ice etc.. to protect against the meat going bad- doesn’t sound safe for consumption.I took my chance despite my pies getting fully thawed and at room temperature by the time I received them: so far no signs of food poisoning…?

I'm a New Zealander living in Sylvan lakeAlbertaBro, I just tried a steak and cheese pieProbably better than half the pies in New ZealandYou rock my friend!!!!If You could make a steak and Oyster pieThat would be EpicI'm definitely going to get all my Canadian mates hooked on your piesLegend!!!!!
Finally found this place after hearing a lot about it.Steak and cheese - The Wilkie - was out of sight great!Chicken, cranberries and Brie - The Chook - was good but lacked the taste of cranberries. Maybe increase dose.We will return.
Just as a heads up you can get these pies at Uproot Food Collective! But I literally just came back from New Zealand, and I was telling my coworker how much I love the pies, only for them to tell me there is a company owned by a New Zealander making New Zealand style pies... in EDMONTON?!Well I may have gotten carried away, and ordered too many online for delivery from Uproot who delivered the next day.THESE PIES ARE FANTASTIC! And very reminiscent of the pies down south! I hope to eventually try all of them! I very much love the thick crusts, and they are chocked full of beautiful savoury fillings. This may be a regular go to for a meal. Thank you Jamie! (Also if you haven't seen the advert go look it up!)
Flaky crust, good quality filling. Delicious.
This is a frozen product so delivery is key not to get spoiled food. First they didn’t give notice when they would deliver so I wasn’t there to accept it. They didn’t respond back to emails when I asked they would deliver. No to ice. The delivery driver did not answer their phone so they could attempt to re-deliver the same evening. And when I contact the company about the delivery not being made, there was no answer on the phone and still no response from the company. How can the company exist with this type of customer service and poor delivery process? It’s really unfortunate because I imagine they might be good pies!
