I walked in the cold to Starbucks on 12/29 at 3:00 pm and it was closed. This is not reflected on Google nor is it reflected in the Starbucks app. I witnessed others have the same experience as me. So, I went to Second Cup.

I usually never leave reviews. This is one of my favourite Sbux locations in the city, but the service I had today was genuinely awful. I’ve worked in customer service for years so I don’t like to complain, but this is worthy of a bad review. My barista at the till (Delilah??) was very slow, making a comment to her coworker on bar about my order while rolling her eyes, as if it was a big problem to make my order. She loudly told him she would not be helping prep my drink, making me feel bad for ordering a tea. Didn’t scan my rewards app, and when I mentioned I had the app, she rolled her eyes at the fact that she had to cancel the transaction and scan my app. She made a comment to her coworker that she would get another bad review after helping another customer. You’re right! Here is said bad review.

I get not liking your job, but kindness goes a long way.

The taste of drinks are real depending on who does make.. id been enjoyed so far but matcha cream coldbrew i ordered taste aweful tonight.
Cream already melting down and mixed with coldbrew when I pick it up(picked up within 5 mins), asked extra ice but ice barely left, and taste nothing..

Great service, food and drinks came out good too. Only problem is there’s not enough seating. All available seats were taken over by college kids or whatever. They had their laptops set up and didn’t seem like they were going anywhere soon.

When I lived in Oliver in 2019, this was my go-to spot for studying and working while enjoying a nice cup of pike.

I went back today and it seems that corporate has removed all the seating (save for a skinny long table with like 5 chairs pushed against the window).

Sadly, I would rather get to-go coffee from McDonalds or Tims, as it is muchhhh cheaper (my Grande pike, black, costs $3.10 now compared to a large regular roast from McDonald's for like $1.50), much faster, and comparable quality.

And I would rather go to second cup a block over for a better experience, better quality food and drinks, and a vast seating area with outlets and a fireplace. You can even get your coffee in a mug, instead of a disposable to go cup.

I will no longer be supporting Starbucks due to corporate's clear focus on raising stock prices at the expense of their once-dedicated customer base.

The baristas, to be clear, are not the problem. They are perfectly lovely. They are also likely getting their hours cut and working more than their wage justifies to make up for said labour cuts. It is a sad case of a corporation that used community values and built their brand on third places and friendliness to eventually become an overpriced drive through/pick up fast food chain.

This is the second time this month I've ordered ahead for pickup and received the wrong order—both times, my latte was missing the flavored syrup (once with a caramel macchiato and the other with a vanilla latte). I called after the first mistake, but it happened again. Prior to this, my orders from this location were always correct.

Average Starbucks quality, but atmosphere is nicer after renovations (less dark). Reduced seating after renovations, so don't expect to get a seat. Also nice to have a screen displaying order status. Service is usually okay.
