On recommendation from my son and his girlfriend, we stopped here on November 19, 2022 for lunch. Their menu had quite a variety of choices, so there is definitely something for everyone. I also overheard the owner speaking with customers next to us, that they offer vegetarian and have items to meet the needs of people with a celiac diet. The gentleman, who we are assuming is the owner/manager served us. He was warm, friendly and very helpful. I ordered the mushroom beef melt and my husband had the butter chicken. We were both very pleased with the serving size and the flavour of our meals. We would definitely go back, if we are in that area again.A final note, their washroom was probably the cleanest I’ve ever been in, for a restaurant. Probably a strange thing to notice but the toilet, floors, sink were all spotless. It says a lot when they take great pride in all aspects of their restaurant.

We ordered here twice in one week. First time I ordered take out, getting the Liver and Onions, a Turkey Club, Creme Brulé and Strawberry-Banana Milkshake: The Liver was delicious, perfectly cooked and though it comes with Gravy, it's entirely unnecessary (I didn't use it). The sweet and perfectly cooked onions were the best compliment. The Turkey Club was good, it's hard to mess this up. I subbed out the Bacon and got Cheese instead. Creme Brulé was a very good serving size, absolutely shareable. We loved it. The milkshake was average. Tasted like the usual artificial flavours. Decent serving size. Second time we took advantage of the advertised Take Out deal posted on the website (I've attached a picture of it): The offer is for 2 Burgers and Fries, 2 Creme Brulé, and 2 Pops all for $34.99. We called the order in ahead to pick up on the way home from work. We ordered the Takeout deal requesting 1x Bourbon BBQ Bacon Burger, and 1x Grilled Cheese Burger. The call taker asked if we wanted fries or soup, and we requested one burger with fries, and one with soup. We knew before hand that a Grilled Cheese Burger would have an additional $2 charge. On arrival to pick up and pay, the order was ready without delay. On payment hubs realized there was a higher cost then he was expecting. When he inquired why he was charged $5 more for the take out special then the advertised $34.99 the server said the website was old and that the owner "has tried to get that taken down forever". There was no effort or offer to honour the advertised deal that we referenced. But even more disappointing was that the server knew what was being asked about before we could even finish asking... indicating to me that this isn't a rare occurrence. We brought the meal home to enjoy but we were disappointed. The Grilled Cheese Burger is stated to come on french bread per their menu. What we received was on a brioche bun which for us is too much bun. It was a very sizeable burger, and the patty was well seasoned. If it weren't for the missing bread, it probably would have been very enjoyable. Make sure you have a big appetite as it is very filling! The Bourbon BBQ Burger was a complete let down. There was zero bourbon BBQ flavour, as though they forgot to add the sauce entirely. There were no onion rings anywhere. And the patty was incredibly bland tasting only of ground beef. If it had been seasoned like the Grilled Cheese Burger then at least we could have finished it. Fortunately, the two Creme Brulé are such generous portions. They helped make up for our half-eaten burgers. I absolutely loved my Liver and Onions with the first visit and I am very reluctant to return because of the multiple disappointments with the second visit. We want to support these potential hidden gems, but we still expect advertised prices and menus to be honoured. I hope something can be done to improve customer experiences at this location, and that this feedback can assist in that direction.

Second time coming here, and the food is amazing. The staff and service is fantastic, and it’s appreciated when mistakes happen they take accountability and make it right. We’ve ordered everything from the steak sandwich, fish and chips, mushroom risotto (surprisingly good!), and the buttermilk chicken sandwich. All of it good. Worth coming and checking it out!

We are from Saskatoon, travelling through Edmonton and decided to have a nice meal and we were famished. So many things on the menu had me salivating, so we ordered the Buffalo Shrimp as an appetizer which was great. I ordered the 6oz steak but the owner told me that it wasn't aged properly yet and he offered me the 8oz steak instead, which he gave to me at the same price as the 6oz. She ordered the fish and chips. It was super fresh with a delicious beer batter. My steak was cooked perfectly, with a breathtaking mushroom gravy. The vegetables were excellent and let's not even talk about the jalapeno mac and cheese.... Free and crazy good. This was one of the better choices I've made in Edmonton on this trip. Also, we ordered mussels to go and they were a great late night snack in our hotel room. The value is outrageous! It's the best restaurant in Edmonton that you've never heard of. A must try!

Please don't let the bar motif fool you, this is a gourmet place. I have never had a risotto or mashed potatoes THAT good in my entire life. Ven and Lynn took care of us and they both were just such lovely people. I honestly felt like we were best friends within moments of speaking to either person. If you want a quality meal, GO HERE!

Dietary restrictions: Lots of options for gluten free for celiac people. Even the sauce was gluten free and it was so delicious that we were almost suspicious of it. SO GOOD

So I ordered the basic bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, nothing fancy, let’s see how well can they make a good simple dish, to go (added difficulty, how does the food travel? Do the fries get soggy?). The good news is they got it right (fries were not soggy, they super wrapped the burger to keep it separate from the fries), even better the meat patty had some nonstandard herbal components that were fantastic and made for a really interesting flavor profile. I look forwards to trying their seafood platter (not to go though, that would just be sad).

Edmonton's best kept secret is out! Steacken continues to impress me each time I visit with its amazing cuisine! This time for my daughter's birthday supper who had never been here before! The five of us enjoyed every bite! The portion sizes were perfect and the price was just right! The fish and chips, roast beef sandwich, wagyu Cali burger, truffle fries, coleslaw, even the house salad with Orange poppyseed dressing were incredible! Try the pear cider! Delicious! Thanks again! See you next time I'm in the city!

Took my son here to try out something new, local and close to home. Our dinner was amazing and we look forward to coming back on a regular basis! A fine added touch was having the owner/chef come to make sure we enjoyed the food he prepared for us. Next time I’ll save room for dessert!

We went on a Friday and it was packed! We were still able to get a seat right away. And our server was great! There was a lovely couple playing live music. A man with an accordion and a woman on a piano. That was such a nice surprise. We made sure to tip them. This is definitely a family friendly place, we were there with our 4 year old and there were other families as well. Our meals were very good! I had a steak, perfectly done and the sides were delicious. I really enjoyed the seasoning they used on the veggies, and the mushroom risotto so creamy and full of flavour. The creek brûlée was seriously out of this world amazing. I have been dreaming about it ever since. We will be back!
