My husband and I have definitely become regulars here. I use to say I’m craving sushi, but now I specifically crave sushi wave. Consistent quality, delicious, and very nice service. When busy, you may have to wait longer here, but it’s worth it.

nice atmosphere and service, the food is just okay. the agedashi tofu is phenomenal, highly recommended. the OMG roll which is supposed to be the main star, is lacking. it looks good but I can't say that it's a proper sushi. the sauce is just too much that I can't taste the salmon and tuna.

One of the best sushi restaurants in the city. Tons of creative and different sushi options, high quality ingredients, and wonderful presentation of food. You need to try the sushi tower! Great customer service and friendly, helpful staff. If you haven't been here, you need to try it!

I can’t believe I never knew about this place living a stone’s throw away for years… but here I am visiting from 30 minutes away and it being 100% worth it. We dined Saturday at 7 PM… not very busy.
I’m a huge fan of “overdone” sushi— the ones with lots of extras & sauces, and this place does it so well. In fact it was a lot more filling than my bf and I expected and we had to take some to go (eaten as a midnight snack). The food also came very quickly
Minor gripes: 1. When being greeted and sent to our tables we were not given any menus. We weren’t in a huge rush but it took a while to have them presented 2. The server did not refill our waters, both of which were emptied pretty early in (sushi is salty!) I always notice and put a lot of emphasis on this because it’s such a simple thing for a server but can be incredibly uncomfortable for the people dining. He did apologize for the service when we were paying but he still didn’t bring a jug with him at that point. We didn’t bother asking since we had a water bottle in the car 3. Only one tiny bowl of ginger and wasabi for the entire night and two people. I like a lot of ginger and am used to one ginger pile per sushi roll

I tried ALOT of sushi places in my life all over Canada, USA, Europe, Nicaragua, Mexico etc.. This place is my favorite in Edmonton and one of the TOP in my life. Sushi tower was great. Overall just good portion, good sauce, love the smoky and sweet taste of the OMG premium roll. The salmon nigiri I tried was super fresh, must be the best place to eat sashimi in town.

Sushi Wave is place we discovered purely by accident and we're ecstatic we did! With our daughter having training practice nearby every week, we find ourselves on Friday nights sometimes looking for a place to eat (and pass time while we wait for practice to end). Being sushi enthusiasts, we did a Google search for near by sushi places and a number of places popped up and we decided to try this place out after seeing the great ratings it received.
Please note, this review is written after several months of visits (since Sept 2024) so feedback is based on a good sampling and repeated visits and the Google ratings are accurate, it not maybe even a bit low. The décor is very clean, friendly and has that wonderful neighbourhood vibe. I love the one wall photo near the door showing a Japanese alley. The restaurant isn’t overly large but the photo fits right into something you might find in Japan where you find these fantastic Japanese restaurants tucked away down a side alley. The staff are all friendly. I believe this is family run restaurant and Adam who’ve we had now several times has is always chatty, friendly and has great recommendations (if you’re not sure about something, ask him!) but all staff are wonderful.
The food is always consistent (consistently good 😊), beautifully presented, and creative. There were some food types we have traditionally stayed away from due to poor experiences at other establishments but with Adam’s assurances that it would be a good experience, we tried them and he was right. We now find ourselves ordering things we haven’t before and enjoying them immensely.
We leave each visit feeling like we’ve spent time with family with a full belly and a great eating experience. Definitely come to this restaurant if you are looking for Sushi and want to support a great local business!

Here, Sushi Wave seems to be on a different level from other Japanese restaurants. Other Japanese restaurants always make me feel bad because the quality is lower than I expected even when I'm full, but here, I feel pleasantly full.
This place is not a ramen specialty restaurant, but it has the best Japanese ramen in Edmonton. It's a hidden menu ^^

Tried Sushi Bento box for lunch. Outstanding service, beautiful presentation, great value. Larger serving size than I would have expected for a lunch feature.

It was fine. Fish was fresh enough. Sushi rolls had too much imitation crab meat and sauce though. Sushi rice could be a bit better. Karaage could be better. Miso soup too salty. I am nitpicking a bit. Decent overall though
