This is a really cool concept! Gaming meets pokemon enthusiasts meets great cafe experience. Very inclusive which is super nice and rare in Edmonton. Felt very safe.
But... The prices are very high for pokemon products. Scalper prices.

Honestly not a great experience here. Selling a few cards - go through the grading process etc, then told might be paid same day, might be paid in 3 days. Ok I guess, not a huge amount - then get an etransfer next day for $50 less than agreed upon value. Have to call in - ofcourse payments guy is "out". They did pay in the end, but wow, quite a process.
Great place to chill and enjoy a hot beverage!!
The vibes of the cafe were really good! Lots of Pokemon theme, decent selection of board games, the pricing is very good for staying the entire day.
The employee who helped was really nice and gave good board game suggestions.

Shop was fantastic loved the decorating and cool Pokémon stuff to buy , good selection of drinks, but food would be nice for some simple cafe foods like soup or sandwiches and service was good but the men need to be a bit more friendly they seemed so uninterested (or shy ) in greeting customers.

Comon people do better. Showed up canada day and the website says your open got there and you were clearly closed but the real slap was no message on the door saying closed for the day or something.
First time visit today, kids had a blast. Will definitely be back!

Like a kid in a candy shop in here. If you love games and cards this is absolutely the spot to go.
Just a note for why I didn't give 5 stars - I went in to trade a Pokemon card and the two at the desk were massively underqualified for any type of grading. Do NOT take your cards in here unless you talk to the owner the others don't know any better. I had to wait 20 minutes for them to come to a valuation on my card that they weren't even sure of. Expect amateurs looking at your cards, only deal with the owner if you can.

Was in Edmonton visiting friends and wanted to pick up some Lorcana singles and play a few games. Found Swirl when looking for card shops close to our hotel.
Went in, bought some Lorcana singles, ordered a dirty lemonade, got great customer service and played a few games.
I enjoyed this place so much I'm back a month later to do it again!

Came into town from Lacombe to visit "The Pokemon Cafe" and really was not disappointed. Great atmosphere, tons of selection. Kids lived it. Will definitely come on through next time we are in Edmonton.

I've been to Swirl Cafe a couple of times now and had absolutely wonderful experiences. The staff are acpetional! They are always very friendly, and they have a selection of board games available to play for a small fee.
They also have a unique experience you can enjoy with their monthly scavenger hunt, which is such a wonderful idea. While searching for pokemon, you can really take in the merch and games they have for purchase. It has made me a repeat customer for sure. The pokemon themed art around the store is also a nice touch.
The very first time I went to the store, I actually held an event there, and I had nothing but good things to say about them and the space they provided.
So many thanks, Justin, Brandon, Brad, and staff for the wonderful experiences.
