The food was excellent with generous portions. Our server was good-natured and made some great suggestions for our lunch choices.
Consistently excellent.
I really love their crispy basa fish.
Took my celiac gf on her bday, and they gave her a free coconut ice cream. We asked 3 times if it was dairy free because she's severely allergic. Even when she brought it to the table, I asked if it was dairy free, and she said yes. She comes back after a few minutes and says it is dairy ice cream. She apologized, but the danage was done. They didn't offer a discount or comp her meal. They made her bowels suffer after asking at least 3 times. The sever was in her early 20s, so this wasn't a language barrier mistake. We are very disappointed they didn't try to make right on their horrendous mistake.
Sooo good! Skip the pad Thai and get some curry with coconut rice. You won’t regret it. I was always a pad Thai girly but syphay makes incredible curries. Melt in your mouth flavourful. I’ve tried the green, yellow, red, and pineapple curry and all are equally as delicious. It’s my go-to restaurant for incredibly tasty food downtown. It’s not the most luxurious place by any means but it’s some good home cooking.
Great food and servings, 100% authentic!
The staff were friendly and attentive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you're craving for Thai food, Syphay is an absolute must-visit!
A friend and I recently went for dinner to the downtown location. I hadn’t been to Syphay since they were on gateway blvd in the old house. I will definitely be returning very soon. The food is fresh and delicious! Portions are very generous - we each took a takeout container home. We ordered a soup to start and 2 main courses and coconut rice.
My first time, it was quite busy food feels good that match my taste, good quantity and lot of tofu and coconut rice taste so good
I always get the Pad Sin Lon and Tom Yum soup. Arguably one of, if not the best meal in the city.
Do not order take out from here. The food is great but the service and experience is terrible. I have been waiting for over 30 minutes for my pick up.
Restaurantji Recommends
The meal was satisfactory; however, despite a 6:00 PM reservation, a delay occurred due to unavailability of a table, necessitating a wait for another party's departure. The restaurant's aesthetic requires improvement.
Love this place. Delicious food, friendly staff. Highly recommend.
We like galic shrimps rolls, mango sticky rice, pad lao and gang garee a lot. The coconut rice is very tasty. Don't recommend shrimps salad rolls cuz the sauce is almond flavor and kinda weird. Chicken pad thai is okay while pad lao is way better. Service is great. Parking is limited. They only open on Saturday dinner time on weekends.
We had a fantastic dining experience at Syphay! We started with the Garlic Shrimp Rolls, which were crispy, flavorful, and a perfect way to begin our meal. My husband had the Shu-Shee, and we also ordered the Black Bean Stir-fry with beef—both dishes were absolutely delicious, with rich, well-balanced flavors.
The service was quick, and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. I have a nut and coconut allergy, and they were very accommodating, ensuring I had a safe and enjoyable meal. It’s not always easy to find places that are both mindful of allergies and serve incredible food, but Syphay exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be back!
Great service, good food selection
