Food was delicious but I found the portion size for rice small for what they charge. I would eat here again.

Food was very overpriced and lacking flavour. Pad Thai was dry and had no meat in it. Just a lot of noodles and some peanuts really. Green curry was ok and the basil beef was insanely spicy. I like spice but it was so hot I could barely eat it. I would not return to this restaurant. Overpriced and mediocre food.

Decided to take the LRT one night just to come here. Excellent warm and welcoming people and food on a cold night. Always worth stopping in.

Honestly their food has always been awesome, it’s one of the few restaurants where I’ve gone back multiple times all the years. However, I am writing this more so of the experience that I just had over the telephone with this restaurant and am quite disappointed with how they treat customers / handled the situation. I called and was hoping to see if they could help me as I was just charged $500 on my credit card to this restaurant. I reached out hoping they could see this on record and possibly stop the transaction and reverse it sooner than later as advised by the cc company otherwise it would need to be disputed after the fact. The moment I said my card was fraudulently charged and they were the merchant
associated to the charge, the lady on the phone didn’t even listen further, didn’t say anything and hung up on me. I called back and tried again, got hung up on again with a statement saying they can’t charge my card without it being present. The charge was at 10:56am- they weren’t open at this time so I couldn’t be present to have even have this charged. To be fair, I’m pretty sure their system has been hacked or there’s been a data breach with their online ordering system….but still just really disappointed with how they handled the situation.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD: On 2025DEC08 two quick charges for $3000 and $2750 were put on my credit card from Syphay. Called restaurant and they said call the police and hung up. Called 3 times to leave my number for the Manager Shauna to call me back, still hasn't. Reported fraud to Mastercard and police. Have since learned that several others have had fraudulent charges put on their credit cards in the last couple of days. Confirmed with Visa and Mastercard that once you have used your credit card with a business they are automatically pre-authorized to put through additional charges without your explicit authorization and the credit card companies do not consider this fraud because you have implicitly authorized them to make charges (Read the fine print on your credit card agreement). They will open an investigation but there is no guarantee that the charges will be reversed. We have been a long term Syphay customer and are devastate to learn that they are doing this. Avoid Syphay

Here we go again. This is the third fraud today!!!! Last time I was at Syphay was in May 2025. Bank advised us today that there has been $5750 charge at Syphay today. Called the restaurant 3 times and I was rudely told to call the police and they hung up. Called the credit card company and we were told because we gave our credit card information to the business we have to deal with the restaurant directly. Good Luck. Manager has not called us back after two calls. Because this is the third review regarding credit card fraud at this restaurant today it is highly advised that you stay clear of this joint, and if you have ever used your credit card there it is best you contact your credit card company. We have contacted police and others victimized by this restaurant should do the same. Their refusal to speak to customers is a strong indication of guilt.

I used to really enjoy this restaurant and would suggest it when friends and family would come into town. However, I found a pending $3495 charge randomly on my credit card from them. Because I have purchased from them before, I have been informed by my bank that I need to resolve it with the business first. When I tried to get information about it, I was told the manager would look into and see if they had received money from me first. I asked if they could also look into why or how this charge occurred, so I could figure out if my card is compromised, why they have my card number, or if it was an error on their part. The staff member I spoke to did not seem to acknowledge or understand the importance of this, but did take down my information. I still had yet to hear from them the next day, so I called and was told by the staff member they have no idea what I'm talking about, they just work there, there is no manager or owner to speak with at all, and oh wait - actually the manager went to the police (even though they just told me there's no manager). I tried to clarify whether there actually is a manager or owner and as I was speaking, the staff member hung up on me. I received not a single apology nor attempt at accountability. Complete lack of problem-solving skills or customer service. Now I have to wait for the charge to go through so I can dispute it, which is fine, but the attitude and absence of responsibility is unacceptable.
Food was so good, it's feels like home made meals

Syphay is our favorite Thai restaurant. The first bite of coconut rice and red curry is something I relish.

The food was alright, but quite pricey, and was only a good deal because of Groupon. I was surprised at how small some of the portion sizes were, and that the shared dish didn't come with rice (and it was $6 for a small bowl which felt so wrong).. the pad Thai was pretty good.
The restaurant had no AC and was really hot and stuffy inside, which wasn't very comfortable to eat in. The menu was cute though
Would realistically only come back with a Groupon deal

Food tastes good, portion sizes are good for 2 /3. Overall will recommend for good thai food.
But try to avoid going there in the evenings after 730, they close by 9pm, and we felt very rushed to order, finish our food, pay and then run out the door so they can close. Personally I think they should close the option to dine in completely after 8 and just keep take out open, we were in an out within an hour but it was getting uncomfortable as we could tell we were expected to just inhale our food and get the check. Ruined the vibe, like from the get go we were seated and as soon as the menu was handed we were told you have 20 mins to get your orders in, server was great and warm but the hostess was not and made us feel bad for dining in. So yeah avoid the last 90 mins I'd say.

Amazing portion sizes and value here!! We had the pad Thai, red curry, coconut rice and 4 spring rolls and after 2 adults eating (and taking seconds!!) we had so much leftover!! Food was hot, fresh and quick and service was super friendly and attentive.
