Szechuan Paramount Restaurant

I usually have the food delivered, so I don't know what the atmosphere is like in the restaurant. Whatever I've ordered was always hot and it tasted great. I don't live far from the 97 Street location, so that helps, I guess. I'll have to eat in one of these days to see what the place looks like inside. :-)

We ordered take out and food was terrible not fresh like it sat. The szechuan beef was gross it did not taste like beef tasted like it was old or it went bad we threw it out. Weve been ordering for a long time. Never again.

Very disappointed with the food this time. The sweet and sour pork tasted like the meat was raw. And the szechaun beef was not great. It had no taste.

I came to pick up food yesterday at about 3:39. .. got take out this place was once good. Not anymore .. food had no flavor. None. rice was dry. Springrolls gross ..mushy … spending too much money for you guys to take shortcuts and not make the dish properly won’t be back

Nasty Dumplings!

I've had some very good meals here in the past but there has been a visible decline in the quality of both ingredients and the care put into preparation.

I recent ordered grilled dumplings.

Instead of receiving the typical, large Szechuan grilled dumplings, I got others that were less than half the size that had obviously been prepped from frozen and were half squishy and half overcooked to a cracker-like consistentcy.

I don't know if they simply ran out of the ran ingredients and ran to the supermarket or if this is their new normal.

In any case, it was a very small dish for around $15 and a nauseating texture.

I won't be back.

We had the buffet and the food was good not great. Everything tasted kind of dry.

I can’t comment on the service nor atmosphere as we ordered this place by take out but it’ll say it’s pretty bad. The orange chicken and ginger beef was dried out and stale tasting the almond chicken is this werid stir fry mainly vegetables with raw almond not toasted almonds, the spring rolls taste like the pre made ones you get from Walmart.

The only good dishes we ordered were the chicken fried rice and won ton soup. We spent $98 and it all sadly went into the garbage. Would be great if we could get a refund and or return this as it’s barely edible. Would never order again. Sorry guys. 1/10.

☺️ We have ordered from 97th for 15 years. Today we actually walked in to eat. The hostess was also our waitress (don't know her name.) She was very friendly, personable and went above and beyond for us. The establishment was spotless. The bathroom was one of the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen in a chinese restaurant! The food was delicious. The portions were generous. Food was served hot, fresh and quick. It was a lovely experience. Our family highly recommends this location. We will definitely come back again. ☺️

Every single piece of food we got was covered in grease (like a soup) none of it was edible :/ if anything it RUINED my appetite! 75$ for not one edible piece of food is RIDICULOUS! What a scam you might as well close your restaurant if you don’t know what you’re doing at this point🤣

Pretty expensive but good food so I guess you get what you pay for

Service was amazing and beyond fast, plus our waitress was absolutely lovely.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the chicken fried rice but that was the least of a problem - The spring rolls were top tier, the beef and broccoli was great, and the sweet and sour pork was saucy.

Used to be a great place to eat. Their buffet was amazing. Now that I don’t eat too much I go and get buffet to go, problem is they give you a small container and a medium one, they charge $30.00 gst included and they are extremely cheap considering that if you eat there you’ll probably will eat 3-4 times what u could take home. Never will support this business again. No wonder why isn’t busy anymore.
