Went with a group of guys for their AYCE and after we got our food, we asked for some more Beef Slices as we ran out of meat, so we put in another order for around 50 slices which wasn’t too much considering it’s a group of guys. The waiter brought out 5 slices of beef. When we asked if we can get the 50 slices we were told no we aren’t allowed anymore until we finish the other food on the table. The other food on the table was an assortment of green onion cakes, spring rolls, veggies, and etc. We were surprised and mentioned we just want additional beef so we can eat it while we slowly eat the remaining items. We were told we aren’t allowed any more. What a ridiculous restaurant. They also didn’t fill up any more sauces - the sauce bar was bone dry. They also weren’t serving alcohol as he said they aren’t licensed but the owner brought some beers out to the table behind us since it’s their friends. Additionally, their vents are “for show” as when you look at them, they’re covered up for cost savings. So the ventilation in the place is terrible. Couldn’t pay me to go back.

It was my first time having hot pot in Edmonton, and it exceeded my expectations. The service was also fantastic—Rui, our server, did an excellent job making sure we had everything we needed. Hotpot is generally not popular in summer, but it’s actually a good choice to have lunch in the Taste of Szechuan, because you can tactically avoid the crowds. The food ingredients are so fresh and well prepared. It was a very pleasant dinning experience. Also must try their ice cream.
