The pasta here is incredible — one of the best I’ve ever had! The restaurant feels full of history with all the beautiful family photos on the wall. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. Truly a gem!

My wife and I have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. This is a family run restaurant and all the sauces are home made. We love this place.

We have been enjoying Tasty Tomato since they opened in the 1990s. Hands down the best pasta in Edmonton & better than Italy! Their boscaioli is my partner's favorite, their bruschetta (a non-menu item) is a must, the home made tiramisu is divine & everything is worth at least 1 try -- delicious 😋. Joe is a stellar host & the servers are attentive, but not intrusive. Still trying to get their secret recipes! 😉

This is a cute place that has been around forever. If you read the newspaper articles you can see that it has been a neighbourhood favourite for 30+ years. The problem is is I think it's had its day in the sun. I've been here a few times and it seems to be better when it's busy. Last visit it was a slower evening. Not a weekend. I ordered the Tiger Prawn Alfredo. BUT I received tiny shrimps that look like the ones you get in Chinese food. Not a prawn in sight. The bread was stale and surprisingly the service wasn't as attentive as I thought it would be on such a quiet night. I left disenchanted and quite upset about the fact that the kitchen used tiny shrimp because they were obviously out of tiger prawn 🍤 ...Instead of telling me I'm sorry that dish is not available tonight.
The sauce was a bit watery for an Alfredo and flavorless. I think that they have different chefs on the weekend. So I think that you might luck out with a more tasty and pleasant experience on the weekends.
Anyways it has been around forever and it's suffering greatly with this LRT construction. I like to go to Mom and Pop places and support local and not a big fan of chains.
But I don't know if I will go back. I think it is a good ole days gone by restaurant and unfortunately time is limited with this LRT mess.

We have been coming to Tasty Tomato for years. Back in the early 2000s my husband (then boyfriend) and I used to frequent this restaurant, and we loved their reasonable prices, fantastic and consistent food, and casual, cozy atmosphere. We just finished a meal there this evening, celebrating my husband’s birthday, with our three children. We love it just as much, if not more, than we did when we were a young couple. The food is always amazing, the staff are super friendly, and the service is top notch. We hope this restaurant is still around for years to come, as we have every intention of returning again and again!
