Momo platter/ sampler concept was a new thing to me and the momos were delicious.
Other food that I tried (mutton sukuti and chicken chhoila) were average.
Would be definitely revisiting for platter.

We went to dine-in after a long drive and ordered 2 chicken thali. The thali was expensive as it was served with just lentil and chicken curry. My concern is after an hour of having thali, me and my brother both started having stomach ache. The chicken was very chewy and didn’t taste fresh. I am going to make a complain to public health department.
Selling stale food for your profit is not acceptable.

The best Thukpa in town. Absolutely loved it. It was so well balanced and bursting with flavour.
And the samosas were freshly made and delicious.

Went to this place couple of weeks ago on a Friday night. It was almost closing time but they still let us make a reservation for 7. It was on my to go list for a long time and my first visit is not going to be the last. Their food and service exceeded my expectations. The man in charge, Mr Rajib was so nice and genuinely friendly, we felt very welcomed.
In terms of food, I have to say you should never skip on the Momo Sampler. Out of all 4 kinds, I personally liked the steamed and thandori ones the most. The Goat Sakuha was alright but should have gone for the chicken one. I think the Chicken Khaja set wasn’t to my taste, especially the dried Flattened rice in the dish. It was also nice that they serve halal food.
I will definitely give this place a try if you’re in Edmonton.

On September 24th, I had the pleasure of dining at Thamel Eatery, a cozy Nepalese restaurant located at 12413 118 Ave NW in Edmonton. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted warmly by Rajiv, who shook my hand and promptly guided me to my table. He brought water and menus within minutes and engaged me in friendly conversation while I waited for the rest of my party to join.
When my guests arrived a few minutes later, Rajiv made sure they were comfortably seated. After giving us some time to peruse the menu, he checked in to see if we were ready for beverages. Since we needed more time, he kindly encouraged us to relax, chat, and take our time before deciding. His attentive, yet laid-back service left us feeling right at home.
About 15 minutes later, I placed my order: the Momo Sampler (Chicken) and Kwati Nepali as starters, followed by the Thamel BBQ Chicken with fried rice for my entrée.
The Momo Sampler, a plate of Nepalese dumplings prepared four ways—steamed, pan-fried, fried, and Tandoori—was exactly what I expected: flavorful and delicious. However, the Kwati Nepali, a traditional soup made from a mix of nine sprouted beans, slow-cooked with spices and herbs, stole the show. Served piping hot, it remained warm throughout the entire 90 minutes we were there. Its rich, comforting flavors felt like a warm hug on a cold winter’s day, making it my favorite dish of the night.
For my main course, I enjoyed the Thamel BBQ Chicken, a marinated chicken thigh seasoned with Nepalese spices, served on a bed of fried rice. While the portion of rice was a bit larger than I anticipated, the dish was flavorful and thoroughly satisfying.
Though Thamel Eatery is a bit out of the way for me, as I live in the southeast corner of the city, I would absolutely make the trip again. It’s a hidden gem that’s well worth the drive.

This place is is a great value for your money. The food is excellent; don't skip the momo. The hospitality is amazing; we ended up having friendly conversations with the server and the people seated around us. The place has a 'hole in the wall' vibe, but everything was clean and tidy. We will definitely be back.
Vegetarian options: The were plenty of options for us to choose from.
Parking: Parking is behind the building, but there is a door to access the restaurant from there.
