The food: doesn’t exist but it’s still 5stars. I fell in love here, met many friends, even foes, Santa came once. I love this place. I’m sure you won’t need a review to convince you to come but, it’s a magical place. Make it a stop on your Whyte Ave journey!!!

I've been a patron of Black Dog for many years. Always the sweetest staff, attentive. Everything you can expect from Edmontons best punk bar! Leave your shiz at the door, have a great time, drink cheap drinks. Much love to the staff <3

Wow what a disappointment.
Where to even begin.
1. The DJ's you hire are a disappointment so unbelievably rude it's gross.
Ex. I asked the dj upstairs to play a song for my friends birthday he did, but then when I tried to make another request it was no no no " I am playing 80s and 90s only" okay so when I asked him to play some Abba tell me why I basically got spit at with a once again NO.
2. We were sitting upstairs and they had the big heaters on, I almost fell asleep sitting there. Gross it was too hot! I asked the bouncer to turn it off because it was making me feel nauseous and sleepy. What response did I get, you guessed it a big fat NO. AGAIN.
3. I asked the DJ downstairs to play something different to see if he would. Said "no I don't like hip hop!" Like really bro I just wanted to listen to something to dance to. Seemed like too much to ask! Nope I'm not done!
Went downstairs and the DJ down there was playing some sort of white boy rap god shit and it was awful, couldn't dance to that music either. What a blow, we left and went to the pint instead and thank God we did.

I frequently go to the Black Dog on Whyte for live music and on Saturday nights im always so impressed by Jesse the bartender down stairs and how personable and efficient he is at his job. I always can let people know if Jesse is on, we ll be taken care of 👑 also his decorating is awesome .

They have a downstairs comedy show room and a rooftop patio. They have a bar on every floor. This was a great spot.

We just popped in on our way to a dinner theatre and we were sorry we had to leave...and after seeing the horrible dinner show we had even more regret that we left. 😁 Awesome pub, great ambiance, fabulous staff, and the other patrons were terrific!

Horrible experience I was walking by on the street and the security assaulted me and my 2 friends when we never even attempted to gain access to the establishment I will never go here again until these problems are addressed.

Disgusting door staff. Was outside and witnessed sober door staff throw a 90lbs wasted girl to the ground and hold her there. Pathetic behaviour. Is there any alternative ?
