Delish food, a little pricey, but not when one considers the overhead for such a beautiful place. Service was excellent the ambiance was delightful. It was our first time there, but not the last ... It has that vibe of calling you back! š
Michelle was amazing, and made our anniversary so special. The food was incredible and I had the best chocolate martini of my life. Best dining experience!
I went here for my birthday and it was great. The ambiance, food, service and cocktails were wonderful. The greeter and waiter greeted me with happy Birthday and I got a plate with a dessert with Happy birthday written on it. Such a wonderful gesture from the staff.
As always, the food and excellent margaritas ( thankyou Andre) provided the beginnings of a wonderful visit to the Confederation lounge. The service was wonderful. Gwen is amazingly efficient and so very pleasant with all her patrons. Kathryn always meets each person with a welcoming smile and sees that everyone is comfortably seated. We thank Jackson and David for a quick hello in their busy evening. Look forward to seeing you all again.
The cocktails and the service was amazing! We stopped in for a drink after our anniversary dinner and as we our staying at the hotel they knew it was our anniversary and had a desert treat for us! Love this hotel!
Great date night. The food was so delicious. Tried the baked Brie for the first time, wow, was it ever good. The margaritas were perfect. Thank you Gwen, David, Johnathon, and Jackson for making it such a special evening.
Great experience and service. We loved my cocktail and the dinner. Loved our Anniversary cake provided by the hotel. Will surely be back š We had fun! Thanks
TLDR : cocktails so bad we cancelled our food order.
Edit : The manager gave us our money back.
On our honeymoon stay at the Fairmont hotel MacDonald, we ordered a « signatureĀ Ā» old fashioned (OF) and the « masterpieceĀ Ā» tiramisu martini (TM). Both drinks were garbage. His OF was disgustingly sweet, without any taste of the supposedly signature bourbon. My TM was worse than watered down chocolate milk. No alcohol could be detected, even if itās supposedly to be made with three different alcohols. No hint of mascarpone. Not even espresso. And that last sip, a lukewarm mixture of cocoa powder and bad drink. 52$ for those two cocktails is ridiculously expensive.
And the food menu⦠Itās very limited. We had a really hard time choosing items that sounded good and that fit together. We did order food but went and cancel everything. When we realized how bad the cocktails were, we werenāt trusting of the food, and not ready to gamble another 150$ on something we werenāt sure would be even any good.
The place is nice. The waiter was amicable.

Had the best Caesar here thanks to Naomi. She brought such a fun and energetic energy, and absolutely loved the tequila Caesar she recommended. Will definitely be coming back for the good service and good atmosphere!

3 stars for the great view overlooking the river valley & all the autumn colors. Really probably one of the the best views in the whole city you could have whilst eating. That being sad I expected a lot more from the food. I got the Cobb salad and it was surprisingly bland. For $44 I thought it was going to a pretty loaded salad. I kid you not, the Cobb salad at Freshii has more variety in it and is like 1/3 the price. Had to pay $14 extra for chicken that was so dry I could hardly chew it too. ? then when I was finished they tossed my salad out instead of boxing it up like I requested. Even had I not asked, you box up the salad for customer because they really just spent almost $50 on a salad.? I believe it was an honest mistake and the waitress had a lot on her plate so I can have some understanding and compassion for that ā¦But still canāt get over that I actually paid $44 for that salad. Lol. Wild. This was a new experience for me and I wouldnāt have ever thought Iād have a negative experience in any way at such a beautiful place.
Felt compelled to spend the next hour after finishing eating in the courtyard taking in more of autumn views and all their amazing flowers to try to feel like I got my moneys worth from the experience. And not going to lie the courtyard did make it feel like I did. As a photographer, i kept thinking what a great place this would be for photos. But without the views⦠I donāt know where the ratings would stand.
I will definitely be going back at some point to give the place a second chance, give some of the other items on the menu a try, and to again enjoy the views. If and when that happens I hope to be able to update my review to include a few more stars!

Restaurantji Recommends
Having dined at one of Edmontonās higher-end restaurants for many years, I expect a certain standard of service. Unfortunately, during our recent visit, our experience with our server, Valerie, fell short of those expectations. While there are many exceptional servers at this establishment, Valerieās approach is completely disrespectful towards guests. Her demeanor included responding in a dismissive manner, which detracted from the overall dining experience. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration, as it can significantly impacts guest satisfaction.

I really do hate to complain, but our experience needs to be heard: I was there for lunch yesterday and both Michelle and our drinks/meal were impeccable. Today, it took ten minutes for someone to show up at the āPlease wait to be seatedā sign to acknowledge us. Even though we had a reservation, it seemed like we were putting the person who showed us to our seats out (there was no warm greeting or welcome), rather just a sigh and a shrug. We were essentially ignored for the entire time (our waitstaff came to our table only three times, once to take our order, the second to bring our drinks, and once after we flagged him down to ask for the bill (because we were not going to wait any further to ask about dessert ā even though we were celebrating a birthday, no sweets were apparently going to complement our meal). Our drinks tasted like cough syrup and the arugula that accompanied my tuna was wilted and clearly past due. The grain salad upon which it was served was tasteless. Night and day experiences. Today's experience was beyond disappointing.
Perfect night out. A cozy intimate table by the fire, quiet enough for conversation. Our wonderful server was polite, knowledgeable, and engaging. Food was amazing as we had fries as good as authentic Belgian ones, rich and filling mains and incredible desserts. Although we avoided alcohol on this night past experience has shown the quality of their mixology. Well done Confederation lounge!
Michelle was outstanding. She was attentive, and yet not always present. She was respectful to wait for an interval in the conversation before she asked us if we wanted anything. She was most accommodating and very helpful with the menu. Our seafood tower and drinks were fresh and delicious. It was a great time all around, largely thanks to the amazing Michelle! Thanks!
