Very nice restaurant and ambience. We came to try some of our favorite French foods and were not disappointed. Unfortunately they were out of the Merlot Beef which was disappointing and the main thing we went for. The steak was well cooked but a bit under seasoned, fries and compound butter were great. Chicken was beautiful and succulent and the leeks and cabbage accomodating were great. The cavier appetizer was disappointing there was not much caviar and the portion was extremely small for 30 dollars. Bone marrow was great and the paired nicely with the focaccia. Overall a pleasant experience.

We have been customers of the Marc since it opened several years ago. We have been there only a few times since it changed ownership. We made a reservation several days in advance but were “stuck” at a table in a very poor location even though there were other tables available. Admittedly we did not complain. Two of the four meals at our table arrived “cold”. They were sent back without issue but in my view, someone dropped the ball and let the plates “sit out”. My meal was excellent. I think that were spoiled by the attention the former owners gave us when we attended before the change. In my view, the restaurant ought to keep a list of valued clients and make a point of ensuring a great dining experience. Overall, it was a very average evening and the cold meals were very disappointing.

Food and wine were excellent, but there seemed to be some confusion as to who our server was initially. As such, we waited some time before being greeted, and then were not told some of the info shared with other diners such as the cocktail special, etc. We both had the Arctic Char and shared a couple of appetizers. The appetizer portions were very generous, so we probably should have only shared one. Service was good other than the initial glitch.

This was my second time at The Marc, and it was fantastic, as I expected. The lamb was terrific, and it was probably the best rum and coke I've ever had. These guys consistently have the best service in the city. Great staff that any restaurant would be lucky to have.

I like this restaurant and I appreciate restaurants that make their menu, new everyday. Honestly, the last two times I’ve been there. I never received what I ordered. Fish cakes weren’t on the menu, yet I received that instead of crab cakes… I don’t enjoy fish. Plus the cream curdled in my coffee. I’m not much of a pretentious individual although I love good food. I can’t say that about this place anymore, unfortunately. It almost seemed intentional. Like, yuck!

We had a lovely, quiet weekday evening dinner at The Marc. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Appreciated the calm ambiance and nice wine list.

Braised beef was a bit dry.
Lamb was a little under cooked.
Steak cut was thin and more fat than usual 10 oz cuts. Everything was heavy seasoned with salt.
3.5 stars

Very disappointed. For the overpriced meal, it wasn't very big and the quality was very poor. The braised beef was dry with very little sauce. Asked for more sauce and was given chicken gravy. The lamb was very rare not very appealing. Very few pieces of vegetables were served with the entrees. We ordered the charcuterie board. There was no presentation and it was very cheaply done for what we paid. I was looking forward to going there for a long time but will not return. We are very disappointed. Ordered a hot toddy as I was recovering from a cold, it came luke warm. The server was amazing. Very attentive. We were seated by the side door and it was constantly opened making it very cold. We asked to be moved and that was accommodated. Overall service was good. However, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

It has been 10 years since I was here so I completely forgot what it was like. All the good was kind of blah! No real flavour. My friend ordered the steak. It was cooked to perfection. She could only eat about half of it since there was so much grizzle. She got tired of having to gracefully remove pieces she couldn't chew. A week prior we were at a comparable restaurant in St. Albert. It is my all time favorite restaurant. Every dish was a treat to the tastebuds. My friend had their steak and it melted in her mouth. We were expecting similiar from the Marc and were greatly disappointed.

Very chic French restaurant. The service was impeccable and the food really tasty. Me and my girlfriend had the opportunity to try plates developed by their chef himself, it was amazingly good. They also offer a nice selection of wines and cocktails.

Excellent French cuisine! I had the coq au vin and it was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were also very well made and complemented the meal perfectly. Highly recommend!
