Honestly, I used to come here many times before, but then I stopped because we kept getting the same waitress, and she was so rude. It's been about 2 years, and it's still the same waitress who is so rude.
TELL ME WHY when we've been there for 30 minutes already and have ordered our food, we get told to move, and then people start to come and sit next to us. We move to another table, and it's dirty. We waited 5 minutes standing at the new table to see if the waitress noticed us, and we legit had to call and wave to her to clean it up. She acts surprised, like, 'Oh my god, no one cleaned the table...' As a server, you're supposed to clean and check it. I bet you it's the same waitress everyone on here is complaining about.

To whom it may concern,

I came into Under the High Wheel and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated which was fine because I was waiting for my date. There was a family of 4 that left next to us right before our order was taken once she had arrived. We had both ordered the same dish. The classic breakfast. One with Bacon and one with Sausage. I added the black bean to spread on my toast. After we were served, another group of 4 sat down beside us. We waited quite awhile for our food. We thought it strange that all 4 of the new people next to us were eating their food before ours was even served to us. When it did arrive, the black bean appeared to have dried out a bit, not sure if thats normal, but it is what it is. When we asked for our bill, 2 to three other tables paid before we had to remind the server that we wanted our bill. We were in our seat for close to 2 hours after everything was said and done. I just wanted this brought to someones attention. Thank you for listening and I hope it helps prevent it happening to another couple.

What an adorable place. The hostess and the servers were so polite and patient. They informed us that the kitchen was pretty slow as they were incredibly busy but the food came out quickly. My friend and I absolutely adored our meal. I had the bangers and mash and she had the savory Belgian waffle. The honey chicken sausages are delicious and the beef reduction was drool-worthy. Will definitely come back again!

Food is pricey but good. I do wish there was more sauce and potatoes on the savoury waffles, like other people have mentioned. But the waffles themselves and the sausage were amazing. Great and quick service. One point lost for atmosphere because literally all they played was Beatles music. Beatles music the ENTIRE TIME I WAS THERE. Listen I like the Beatles. But for my entire meal????

Under the High Wheel offers a cozy, relaxed brunch experience with a true local feel. The menu highlights fresh, quality ingredients and features hearty European-inspired dishes—from rustic eggs and bacon plates to beautifully prepared crepes and seasonal specialties. The coffee is excellent, service is warm and unpretentious, and the atmosphere makes it a great spot to linger on a weekend morning. Perfect for those who appreciate comfort food done with care.

The best part is to be able to sit without waiting. Latte was great taste with the art!! Atmosphere was good and clean. Service was slow. Waited 30mins for savoury Belgian waffle. The portion of the side was frustrating for 22$ menu item it’s not hard to add more hollandaise sauce and potatoes. See my reference with my finger, and the amount of potatoes. It’s not even 1/4 of a whole potato.

I had a similar experience as other reviews in regards to the waitress, Elzbieta. She was rude, walked away without responding when we asked for anything and barely came to the table. I understand the restaurant is busy and the kitchen takes time, but the service is a huge part of dining. Our order wasn't taken for 30 minutes. Not even drinks, all we had was water for a half hour. She didn't check on us once. Thankfully, the food tasted great although some of it was cold. We also noticed she was kind to other tables but treated us terribly. I love the food and hope to never be treated that way at this restaurant again.

Hostess was reliably distant in a European stepmother kind of way. Server was awesome. It’s rare that I enjoy something as much as I did the first or second time but today was an exception. This place makes the perfect waffle, perfect texture, beautiful fruit combo including kiwi berries ( is this a lab fruit?) the whipped cream is sweet but not too sweet, it’s exactly the right amount of sweet and reliably so. Also whatever maple syrup is served with this delicious waffle is next level. I recommend you pour out the whole little dish of maple syrup so it bathes one half of your waffle from the bottom up. Why? Because this baby does not need the maple syrup but it is fantastic with maple syrup. So this way you get two fantastic food experiences, one with syrup and one without. I ordered mine with a side of eggs, wherever they source their eggs is good quality. I think one of the secrets to this place is the sourcing. I only eat this waffle on very rare special occasions, maybe once a year and it has not disappointed!

First off the food was amazing, we came for my friends birthday breakfast, i’ll be coming back for the food but Elzbieta gave horrible service. we didn’t even sit down for 5 minutes, and she was already asking us to order and rushing us, didn’t make any eye contact when we were communicating, granted it was busy- she said that our food would take 40 minutes so she insisted we should order now in a very passive aggressive tone. our friend didn’t even order a drink and stuck with water because she felt so rushed as the drinks were $6.50 each (little expensive for how the drinks came out) at the end, we asked her for the bill and she didn’t even let us tell her we wanted it split a certain way, she just walked away without any confirmation that she heard us , and then she comes back we let her know, and she told us in a weird tone that “we should of told her earlier” we did apologize but she just didn’t say anything to it. basically, we were rushed and didn’t get to order what we wanted because of that. it was our first time going and we really did enjoy the food and will be coming back, hopefully to be served by someone else next time.

Hostess was a bit rude when we came to dine in, waiter was trying to seat us and she made a comment well you should talking to me. Seats were incredibly uncomfortable in the patio area. Food was amazing and I am happy they support local.
