Love coming here for breakfast and brunch. Highly recommend the Bangers and Mash, if you want to try something different from a traditional breakfast. The sit-in/dine-in space is limited, so it is usually busy. But the staff do a timely job of clearing and cleaning space for new customers to be seated. Great place for brunch with the girls, too!

We came in around 11am on a Sunday. The service was not too great. It was pretty busy and our server only gave us 5 minutes to look at the menu. After placing the order, we said we would like to take a look at the menu one more time to which she responded saying " you must place your order now because I cannot walk back and forth to serve your table". We felt pressured and forced to place an order given that we only had 5 minutes with the menu. We asked for salt and pepper and that arrived almost 20 minutes later. The food was amazing though!

Enjoyed a good meal with family & friends - I chose the house salad. Menu very limited, server completed the job but certainly lacked in personality - no table side manner.

I recently visited Under The High Wheel and had the pleasure of trying their BELT sandwich, and let me tell you, it was outstanding! The ingredients were fresh and locally sourced, making for a truly delicious meal. I’ll definitely be coming back for more. However, I couldn’t help but notice that the drinks were on the pricey side (as noted from other reviews). I ordered the BELT sandwich and one drink, and my bill came to $40, which I found a bit steep. I would have loved to indulge in another drink if they were more affordable.Overall, the food quality and atmosphere were top-notch, but I hope the pricing for drinks becomes more reasonable in the future.

I just left this place and I’m shocked. I don’t like giving reviews to places but this was so bad I have to.1) server was rude2) no matter what, you have to pay 18% tip “it’s included in your bill “ and on top you can tip more . So if you are like me who didn’t liked service ,you won’t have option to tip basic 15% or less.3) for price I can make better breakfast at home . I can name dozens of places in Edmonton where food will blow your mind and you’ll pay same amount4) after 1.5 hours we have been asked to leave . Even though all of us had food and drinkSo yea if you want to have decent food and tip as much as you want and not being kicked out literally comment my I’ll give you dozens of options where to go specially on whyte ave

The food is delicious; no issues with that. But today, A friend and I went there for brunch and we both chose the special. It was presented thus: "A waffle with melted brie, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and asparagus, and sausage or bacon." My friend asked the waitress to repeat and she said the exact same thing. Sounded great. Then my friend asked for salmon instead of sausage or bacon and we were told there would be an $8.00 surcharge, which we accepted. There was no mention of any other price or surcharge of any kind. Then, when the bill came, I was surprised to see a $6.00 charge for the bacon I chose. I asked about it and I was gaslit by the waitress who said that the special (which was billed at $18.00) actually cost $24.00 and that I had not paid more than I was supposed to; that she reads "it like this to all the customers," and that she had clearly told us the sausage and bacon were an "add-on". We did not ask the price of the special because we were okay with whatever... However, I am not okay with sausage or bacon being mentioned as part of the special when it isn't, and I am even less okay with the rude waitress who snapped at us and gaslit me.

Went with my friend on Saturday March 16th for the first time and I was looking forward to trying it as I've heard great things. To say the experience was disappointing would be an understatement. Our server was an older male who was friendly, he suggested I get the bangers and mash, which I was excited to try. Our drinks took a little bit to get to us and while we were waiting for our food, the server didn't come over a single time to fill up our waters or check on our drinks. We could tell he was busy and had a high turnover section so it wasn't a big deal. However, our food took almost 30 minutes to come out and came out very cold, my mash potatoes, eggs and the sauce were very cold. The eggs has absolutely no seasoning on them so they were very bland. The only redeeming quality for the meal is that their chicken sausages are delicious - however these were also cold. If my friend and I weren't starving and didn't wanna wait another 30 min we would've sent the meals back cause it was unacceptable to not get warm food. My friend has tried to get the attention of another server (a blonde lady) to ask for a ketchup. The woman openly sighed and rolled her eyes at us before coming to the table, she seemed annoyed that we bothered to get her attention and didn't even bring over a ketchup for my friend. We later found out this women was the manager on duty, which made the experience every more bothersome as this person should not be representing the company. We still had to pay for the food, but they did give us a "you are special" discount.Overall it was a horrible experience. As someone who is both a server and a manager in the service industry, I would never treat customers the way this lady treated us. Nor would I charge the customers for very cold food.

I frequent this building and the cafe a few times a week for lessons and appts. I am truly bothered by our lunch experience here today. It appeared as though there was only one server for the entire establishment so I can understand how hard that must have been for our server but she treated us like she was annoyed to serve us. She never said hello, was unfriendly, and appeared as though she just truly didn’t want to be there. I love the waffles and cafe here and I have come here and had a great experience before but honestly I am appalled at how bad the service was today. Our main course also took over thirty minutes and when I asked her if I could cancel it she didn’t really acknowledge the delay. We ended up getting it packed to go. We were celebrating my nieces birthday and I felt like we were not welcome. Left with a very uneasy feeling which is unfortunate because I’m around here twice a week. If you’re feeling short on staff or struggling just say hey we are short I’m so sorry for the wait and our brief encounters, I’m doing the best I can… rather than storming around like you hate the place and the patrons. I also was left wondering if it was because we were with four kids that she seemed so annoyed

Really cute local brunch place! Everything tasted fresh and service was great. Our server was super attentive and kind. We all enjoyed our dishes and I love that most of the ingredients are local produce! That being said, its not a cheap brunch but on the pricer side (which makes sense because its local). Good portions and love the vibe. They have a few vegan and vegetarian options!

The Traditional Breakfast was eggs, bacon, toast and roasted potatoes. Fairly typical, but everything was taken to much higher level. This created one of the best breakfasts I remember.

Have eaten here 3 times in the last 6 months. We go here because we really like a couple of their gluten free options. Upon sitting down 15 minutes after opening on a Thursday, we were told there was no avocado. That’s 3/3 visits there has been no avocado. It’s possible they never have avocado. We order the Nutella breakfast and the huevos breakfast. The server then comes back to tell us there is only one crepe left and we can only have one of our chosen items. Are these not made fresh? At this point feeling very frustrated that there are now a minimum of 3 items we cannot have off this menu. The server ended up suggesting the sweet waffle which was underwhelming and not gluten free so I could not share with my partner. We paid over $60 without tip with no discounts despite the unavailability of food and avocados that should have been included in the dish we ordered. This place is overly expensive, inconsistent, and was only running 1 server for a full restaurant on a Thursday. We won’t be back.
