Sat up at the bar and ordered, the bartender was great. Knowledgeable about the menu and made some great suggestions. His cocktails were on point and the house Shiraz was delicious. Had the prime rib and it was cooked perfect for me. The burnt cheese cake suggestion was amazing. Glad I took his advice for dessert. Another great visit to Von’s!

Our server was wonderful, always checked in on us. Unfortunately, one of the oysters I had was not fresh at all, and made me feeling very unwell. Other wise, the remainder of the meal was wonderful!
Been here a few times, and overall very good but with some caveats.
For starters we had fresh oysters, which were nice. They come with both horseradish and cocktail sauce. No buck a shuck here. We also tried the classic fresh mussels in a white wine sauce are. Tasty, but the sauce was a bit watery. You end up with a giant bowl of soup at the end. The toasted focaccia was a bit stale also.
We also tried the baked mushroom Neptune seafood dip. The dip itself came out nice and warm, but the bread was a travesty. It was both somehow soggy and dry. My guess is it was frozen, defrosted, and then they tried to bake it. Really bad. Would not order again.
Mains wise, the 14oz ribeye, medium rare, Chicago style was excellent. While the total weight of the steak was a bit suspect, the steak was done perfectly. Great char and cooked to the perfect temp. It was tender, fatty, and flavourful.
The sides were pretty lacklustre though. Mashed potatoes and steamed fresh veg but no seasoning.
Someone ordered the loaded baked potato, but instead of a substitution, they charged FULL price for a side. $14 for a baked potato is crazy.
The 24-hour braised lamb shank here is also a great choice. Ultra tender, rich, and flavourful. Would definitely order again.
Overall, the mains I thought were very good, but some things needed a bit of refinement.

Server was very good , we had a reservation for 6 and they accommodated us to get us in at 5, isartes with a French onion which was good ad my wife had the fresh mussels , a third of them did not open , should not have been served , the manager ordered some more which came after are entries were served and there was another unopened one in that order. I had the 8pm Serling ordered med rare and it was served rare but it was ok and the wife had the steak Oscar served Rare and was cooked well . Not sure the cost of the meal 200$ was justified , unfortunately the food isn't as good as the old days when my friend David was the owner . The service was good all around but the chef needs to manage quality control better for his night crews.
The manager is absolutely world class, amazing service and quality food! Definitely my go to in Edmonton for an extravagant night out.
