Whimsical Cake Studio was a joy to work with! Attention to detail, communicative throughout the order, and fairy priced. The cake turned out stunning, everything we had asked for! Even made little cranberries, when the reference photo had real cranberries, which aren't a favourite, these were! Adding dried Raspberries and Haskaps to the side was the perfect touch! We had chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream filling... DELICIOUS!! 10/10 flavour & texture. Definitely recommend Whimsical and will be back for more birthday cakes!

We hired Whimsical Cakes for our wedding, and the service and staff were amazing. The ordering process was easy, and they deducted the price of the taster pack from our cake. The cake was delicious and the design was exactly what we wanted when confirming our details with them. They were closed on the day of our wedding, but we were able to pick the cake up from the store the day before with no hassle or issues. Overall whimsical cakes was amazing, and so helpful in making our wedding a success.

I had no plans on posting this review, however the manager/owner and her unprofessionalism I spoke to has earned it.My amazing son ordered me 10” - 2 layer carrot drip cake for my birthday a couple weeks ago . He paid $120.00 + GSTWe live in Fort Saskatchewan and he drove to south Edmonton to pick it up.He was so excited to give me this special cake .Upon receiving it I looked at it and the presentation was very sloppy made but still I was willing to accept it as it was a gift . I cut a piece out for my husband and I and it was not edible , the outer icing was greasy like the consistency of lard , so nasty, the cake was crumbly, chunky with air pockets and strong in flavour and the centre icing was any but the cream cheese that was ordered. It was gross .My son had left out of town for work and so he didn’t taste it. I did however share with him and I told him I would reach out to the bakery which I did by email .When I emailed the bakery I was extremely polite expressed my concern and what the issue was with the cake and that I would appreciate a full refund. I didn’t hear back but my son was contacted by the bakery owner and she was extremely abrupt and rude and she said she would only refund half of the price of the cake and so I told my son I would call the bakery which I did. I asked for the manager or owner and she answered the phone and as soon as I explained that it was me that sent the email and expressed what the issue was with the cake, again I was very polite, she completely changed her tune and was very rude and I expressed my concern with the cake and that it was not edible therefore I would appreciate a full refund she proceeded to raise her voice at me barely allowing me to get a word in edgewise wise then she said fine in a snarky voice and hung up on me.She was extremely unprofessional for being a business owner. I was appalled on how she spoke to me.I had no intention of writing up a review but she gave me no choice to by the way she handled the situation, the way she spoke to me and my son.**Word of advice to the owner, if you want a successful business then I suggest you learn how to take constructive criticism and perhaps take a course on customer service. You are a very unprofessional owner/baker and as far as I’m concerned you shouldn’t be in this type of business working with the public . I will share my experience with friends and their friends etc. Let this be a lesson that word of mouth is the BEST advertising and it will either make or break you as a business, all you had to do was be polite. I could’ve handled the cake situation but your inability to show a mature way to handle it was extremely insulting, immature and not called for .**I do not recommend this business**

I ordered a cake for a wedding. They created it from scratch based on a picture . The cake was very moist and tasted excellent. We got several positive comments from our guests. I highly recommend this store.

Pros:- inclusive, welcoming shop- friendly staff- texts you a picture of the cake beforehand and ensure you are happy with it- buttercream icing is delicious- beautifully decoratedCons:- the actual cake itself was just “meh” for me personally. I liked the icing but the cake just wasn’t doing it for me. It was good, don’t get me wrong, just not great. My friends really liked it though so this is just one persons opinion.

never recommend to any body. they charged me 800 dollars for birthday cake 8 months prior to date of birthday of my daughter, when it comes to delivery day, they said oh sorry we could not make it even though I confirmed day before and they lied to me and said oh everything is good. imagine all the kids were excitedly waiting for the cake during the party and no cake ? I had to drive to save on food and grab whatever I can. I requested all my money back which they returned to me. But they are not professional at all and lies. NEVER RECOMMEND to any body. If you don't want nightmare on your part day, never talk to these people.
Came in here to get a single cupcake for my daughter on her birthday. The staff was very sweet with her and we had a great experience. The cupcake was better and cheaper than the cupcake specialty shops. Highly recommended.

We ordered cake for my daughter's birthday party from here. The design of the cake was exactly what we wanted, and the flavors were spot on as well. However, the crust was very dry and hard, so much that it took over the flavors and became the talking point of the party. It was pretty embarrassing to be honest. For the price of $150 one would not expect such a shoddy work. This is something which clearly could have been avoided as visibly the crust does not seem normal for a vanilla flavored cake.Edit - Was contacted by the owner and provided an explanation regarding the mistake. The owner was apologetic and will be crediting the money back as the cake was not up to their standards. I understand that errors happen, but what I appreciate more is the honesty and fairness of the owner. Hence, I have updated my rating from 2 to 4 stars.

Darcy and her team did our wedding cake and 150 cake pops for our big day. They were a huge hit. Darcy was incredibly responsive every time I emailed. I was also able to send a picture of our wedding colors and they were able to match it so closely. It was absolutely perfect!

Grabbed a couple cake balls and freeze dried skittles. The cake balls are super super sweet. We got banana cake with strawberry filling, and vanilla cake with cookie dough filling. We probably only needed one to share. The freeze dried skittles were not really that special. They had a lot of freeze dried things there for some reason.
