I’m really disappointed to be writing this review, when our first visit here was so fantastic.

This was our second visit. The first visit was incredible. Between the food and the service - everything was a 10/10. The second visit was very different. At this point I don’t know if we will return, let alone recommend Wok N Roll.

I will start off with saying the food is always good. The price is a bit on the high end, but the quality is always there. We are more than happy to pay extra for the quality Wok n Roll provides.

The service this last time is what made it so we are not sure if we are going to return. It started off with ordering the food. We had ordered our food with Wor Wonton soup to start. We emphasized a few times that we wanted our soup first - otherwise the food would sit in the table and go cold before we finished the soup. Hot food hot! So we get the soup and as they are putting the soup on the table, they are already bringing our food out. We reiterated to the server that we wanted to start with soup before the rest of our order came out, now the food was going to get cold. Our server just smiled and walked away.

Our server very kindly poured our first bowl of soup each. I went to add a bit of soy sauce. When I went to add soy sauce, I picked it up by the top, not realizing that someone had unscrewed the top, and subsequently it fell on the table and all over my shorts, legs, feet, and sandals. After a few minutes, our server came over, said nothing, and dropped a small stack of napkins on the table, and left. The Manager (I think?) came over - dropped a couple pieces of paper towel on the ground - stepped on it a few times and said “be careful not to slip when you are leaving.” At this point I’m a bit shocked. I’ve gotten better customer service at McDonalds. I can’t imagine being a server and having no reaction to a customer getting covered in a mess like that. When I asked our server for a wet rag or towel to clean myself up - she politely told me to go use the bathroom. From this point on we didn’t see our sever till just before we left.

When our food was all brought out, I noticed they missed one of the items. I kept trying to flag our server down - but she literally didn’t come back. I waved a gentleman down and luckily he went into the back for us, and after a few minutes brought us out some incredible sweet and sour pork. As I said. The food here is always amazing.

We didn’t get a refill of water till we were already done our food. We were never asked at all if we wanted more hot water for our tea.

In the end they never said anything about the incident with the soy sauce. There was a gross pile of paper towel and soy on the floor my entire meal. My shorts had a huge stain on them. The food was great. We wouldn’t have wanted a discount. I would have been so happy to receive the BARE MINIMUM of ‘hey we are sorry that happened.’ I honestly have no idea why they treated us like that. It honestly made me feel incredibly unwelcome. I gave the atmosphere a low rating for having to sit next to pile of paper towel and soy sauce on the floor.

I used to recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for top tier Chinese cuisine. Again, the food is great - but how can you recommend a place that treats their customers like that?

One thing that was incredibly hard not to notice is that the server seemed to treat some customers better than others. I’m not going to go into specifics comparing which people were getting better service than others - but it was glaringly obvious.

We saw a lot of people not dining in and getting to-go orders. Maybe that’s the smart way to enjoy the good food and avoid poor service.

Been coming here for years and food is always amazing. Even without a reservation for 12 people, they accommodated us very well. The service was fast and the serving portions are huge. Thank you for being an amazing part of many of our family celebrations!

Good place for dim sum and Chinese dishes for the Northside of the city.

The worst part of our visit wasn’t the food—it was the service. One of the female staff members had a terrible attitude throughout the entire meal. She looked annoyed from the start, avoided eye contact, and responded with a cold, dismissive tone every time we spoke to her. Her expression said it all: “Take it or leave it.”
We felt clearly and unfairly treated differently for no reason. There was zero sense of hospitality or basic courtesy.
A person with that kind of attitude has no place working in a service-oriented restaurant. It completely ruined the dining experience. I would not recommend this place based on service alone.

Worst restaurant ever because of the bad service. I was treated with a lack of courtesy and respect by the server. Not only was their attitude dismissive and rude, but I also witnessed a stark contrast in the way different customers were treated. It was disheartening to observe that the server was only cordial and attentive to certain customers, while our table was completely ignored or given minimal attention.

Very disappointing service from their server. Every other tables received the complimentary soup, but our table did not. When I asked, the server said “sometimes we have it, sometimes we don’t,” a big lie right in front of the customer, like me, where I could clearly see all the other tables had it at same time. Unfair and disrespectful.

Made the order and waited like 30 minutes with no food served. Asked again then gave us an order that’s freshly printed. Still no food served as of the moment.

Have been a casual patron of over five years.
After the very recent renovation, not only has the dining space been revitalized, the food and energy of the space(热闹) has been renewed.
Came for Saturday dim sum. All the dishes looked and tasted great and authentic.
Great job and vision of the owners. We wish you great success into the future.
