I went on Valentines day for the dinner buffet, and can honestly say that I'll be back again soon. The food was incredible, very tasty, a wonderful variety, and it was great to try new cuisine.
The service was also excellent, out waitor Gerald was fantastic, but he was quite busy this evening so I didnt see him very often.
The complmentary Valentines day beverage was an unexpected treat too, thank you again!
The restaurant was very comfortable and pleasing to the eye as well, it made for a very lovely and welcoming place to spend the evening.
The butter chicken and chicken tandoori were our favourites, but I can say we really enjoyed the whole variety, 10 / 10.
Thank you for a wonderful dinner and a pleasant evening!

The food at Zaika is incredibly inconsistent. One day it'll be one of the best Indian meals you'll ever eat and the next it'll be barely better than Indian food you can find at western restaurants/cafes like Brewsters, Joey's, or Sunterra.
A month ago I ordered the butter chicken along with a few other items. The butter chicken was amazing and among one of the best I'd ever eaten. It was spicy like I wanted and the flavour blew me away.
A month later (today) I ordered the butter chicken again along with a few other items. This time the butter chicken was bland and barely above average. The spice level I requested was hot and it seemed like it was barely above mild and the dish itself tasted like a tomato bisque. Extremely disappointing.
I'm not sure why Zaika has so many consistency issues with their food. I've been going to this restaurant for the past 15 years and the food is always hit and miss. It's one of the reasons why I don't go very often (maybe 1-2 times a year). One day you'll get an amazing meal, and the next time you go it'll be barely better than Indian food from Joey's or Brewsters. They have the potential to be one of the better Indian restaurants in Edmonton, but it seems like they always choose to water down their food for non-Indian customers. It also occurs at the family's other restaurants. If they could consistently make good Indian food, I'd be a regular customer but sadly they can't.
If customers want a tomato bisque like butter chicken, this is the place to go. If want a proper butter chicken with good flavours and spice, look somewhere else. Haweli a few minutes down the road consistently makes a good butter chicken.

Restaurantji Recommends
This is my favourite place for delicious food. They have a great variety of foods, for both meat and vegetarian choices. They have foods I have not seen anywhere else. The staff is friendly, and always happy to answer questions or even just to chat. I highly recommend the buffet!

Went for dinner with family
Food was atrocious, Dall was full of salt, fish pokora were good, chili chicken was not fresh at all. Portions have gone small. Buffey was filled with cheap food.
Would not recommend going there any more.
One time their food was very good, 3 4 yes ago.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Zaika Indian Bistro is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance feels warm, welcoming, and well put together—perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and has a relaxed vibe that makes you want to take your time and enjoy the experience.
The food is outstanding. Every dish is packed with authentic flavors, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that fresh ingredients are used, and the quality is consistent across the menu. The sizzling platters are especially impressive, both in taste and presentation. Portions are generous, and everything arrives hot and full of flavor.
Service is friendly, attentive, and professional. The staff is happy to explain menu items and help with recommendations, which makes the experience even better—especially if you’re new to Indian cuisine.
Overall, Zaika Indian Bistro delivers excellent food, great service, and a pleasant atmosphere. It’s easily one of the best Indian restaurants in the area and definitely worth visiting again!
