This place used to be THE place back in the day.Atmosphere feels a little cold and uncomfortable with the lighting and aesthetic. But we had a very nice waiter end the food was pretty good!They still have the fish pond which I hope they never get rid of.

I placed a large order online with short notice for a staff meeting, asking for confirmation the order could be met on such short notice. Golden Star not only fulfilled the order, but the food was tasty, the service above par and delivery very timely. My co-workers enjoyed and conveyed their compliments.

We did a takeout order. The food was hot and fresh but not great flavour. Just ok. Beef and broccoli was a bit salty but meat was tender, egg rolls were not that flavourful and had a very thick dough. Gingered beef was quite soggy but had a nice spice.Over all meal was ok but definitely not the best Chinese food we've had. There was 3 of us and we a agreed.Would not order again.

Must say I was not very pleased with the food we received. For instance, the sweet and sour sauce had zero flavour, no sweetness, basically tasted like watered down tomato soup, the fried rice was barely palatable, spring rolls tasted like store bought. This is not the same golden star we use to frequent. I’ll try it once moreto see if it was an off night. But I’m looking for another option in town.

Waited in the entrance for my takeout for 15 minutes did not see one employee. Had to phone 3 more times to get someone to answer. Atrocious service. Never again.
If you aren't cooking tonight and your in GP. Make Golden Star cook you supper this evening. Salt & Pepper Squid ? is the bomb.
