My Father use to always order Salisbury Steak when we were on the road, didn’t like to share much but I remember the taste… been chasing that classic, homemade, hit-the-right spot, feel for awhile and The Old Trapper nailed it. I felt like I could retire and be that old regular that comes in for the ole reliable Salisbury Steak. They had an Italian soda feature at that time too… and utterly refreshing. I don’t go to GP much but in my mind I dream of that Salisbury Steak from time to time.

Really good spot in Grande Prairie. I’ve been here a few times now, service has always been excellent. Really like their “Wood chips” - that has been my side a few times now. Good for business dinners if you’re looking for something casual but clean and not too cookie cutter. Also rotating menu of daily specials is pretty sweet.

Excellent place to eat. Today I had the bacon potatoes soup 🤤🍲, it was really good chunky soup, topped it with a cold beer, some quiet music, excellent staff and excellent lighting in the bar. Definitely a good small town pub restaurant that's run right, I may update my review with more pics and stuff with another visit. The prices seemed fair for the quality of food if you ask me and I'm sure this is a cool place for all ages. I've been in some pubs and there over run with trailer park elderly crowd all day but this place doesn't seem like the patrons run it.

My favourite restaurant in Grande Prairie. Friendly service, and great food. The one time a meal there was sub-par they fixed it immediately with no hassle. The Trapper and the Jack Daniel's burgers are my favourite, and I'm not one to order burgers to begin with!

I was in grande prairie for a work trip staying at the Podollan beside the old trapper. We were looking for a place to eat within walking distance. The food was good but the service was slow for being only 3 tables in there, and the biggest issue I had was that when I ordered a third drink the waitress tried to tell me I was cut off and I can’t be driving. I said I am within walking distance of this restaurant and asked why would I be cut off after 2 drinks. I can honestly say that has never happened to me before. Needless to say we ended up getting the bill and I tipped about a quarter of what I normally would due to the slow service, forgetting our appie, and trying to tell me I was cut off. I go to a restaurant to have a relaxing dinner and drinks after working and that was uncalled for. We liked the food but we will not be back. I think the waitresses need training on when is an appropriate measure to “cut off” someone. Coming from a previous bartender that was very unprofessional.
Definitely a favorite when visiting grande prairie, and with being next to the podollan hotel it's nice to have something with good eats within walking distance.

The Old Trapper nailed it. Large Caesar salad, 8-oz steak sandwich medium-rare, onion rings, and horseradish—everything hot, crisply plated, and true to description. Simple ingredients, unforgettable taste. Bonus Beavertail dessert for online orders—delightful surprise. Delivery was fast and packaging kept it perfect. Highly recommend for solid, simple flavors with a memorable finish. Definitely will order again And highly recommended!!
