On a warm, sunny day, my son and I dined on the deck at Mr Mikes. He ordered the ribs, while I chose the chicken Caesar salad. The meal, while passable, left little impression. The ribs, though tender, would have benefited from a longer slow-cook to deepen flavor and texture. My chicken was noticeably dry. The food was not offensive, but neither was it memorable.
The deck, despite its generous size and potential for a pleasant outdoor setting, was disappointing. Pollen in the air was seasonal and understandable, but the state of the space was not. The table and chairs had not been wiped down. A strong smell of propane hung in the air; after I raised the issue, the waitress shut off one open tank, which helped slightly, though the odor lingered, suggesting others may have remained open. Overall, the environment felt unkempt and unpleasant.
The one redeeming element was the service. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and cheerful throughout. Though I didn’t catch her name, her warm demeanor stood out in contrast to the rest of the experience.
In the end, while the service was appreciated, the food and atmosphere did not meet expectations. I do not anticipate returning.
