We were staying in Jasper for a few days so came in here for some food and beer. I had a really tasty burger and the wife had fish and chips both of which were great tasting and great portion size. Nice beer and friendly staff, if I was ever in Jasper again I’d come here and recommend anyone else to try them.

We went in with the intention to have a steak for an early dinner this afternoon. We were given a menu, with no mention of anything unavailable, and decided to have chicken wings to start. The waiter who was wearing a grey T shirt came to take our order, and after ordering the wings we ordered two steaks. He immediately advised us that they didn’t have any steak. So reluctantly we chose fish and chips. The actual service was a minimum. It was a lady who brought our food (all at the same time). The same waiter took my money to pay for the bill, and put the change on the table. We were so disappointed that there was no steak - but should have been told when given the menu. We were surprised that the starter and main courses arrived at the same time not long after our drinks. Our table was small, after finishing the basket of chicken wings, nobody could be bothered to come to collect the basket and two dirty plates. With the level of service being a bare minimum, and lacking in significant areas, we left no tip, and left. As we walked out, and just entering the sidewalk, the waiter rushed after us and pointedly asked why we left no tip. Absolutely amazing- we have never experienced a waiter running after us on the street complaining that we paid no tip. Because he was confrontational we reluctantly gave him a tip. Feels like being chased for a debt. During which, it drew a couple of other customers’ attention, who curiously wanted to get to know what had happened, and made some comments about that waiter. After this unpleasant and rare experience we will never return!!

Great local feel, good food and drinks. There were 6 in our group, we all really enjoyed the Whistle Stop Pub. No wait, prompt service, we'd definitely recommend.

Atmosphere is great and friendly service. We bought Nachos which was $27 would be enough for at least 5 people. If you are one or two going there never buy Nachos, you will get that you are not going to finish.
