Title: Extremely Disappointing and Unhealthy Experience
My husband and I went for dinner at Alpine Social on October 16, 2025, around 5:15 p.m. after his conference. I ordered the Alpine Burger with fries and a margarita, while my husband ordered fish and chips with a beer. We left the restaurant around 7:00 p.m.
Later that evening, both of us started feeling unwell. Our stomachs were bloated, and we experienced severe gas and discomfort throughout the night. Around 4 a.m., I developed extreme diarrhea, the worst I have ever experienced. My husband also became ill, though my symptoms were much more severe. Soon after, I developed fever, chills, and stomach pain.
The following day, I could barely eat and stayed in bed all day at the Fairmont Hotel. I only managed a small amount of yogurt, chamomile tea, and some soup from room service. I also took Pepto-Bismol to try to control the symptoms, but the diarrhea and pain continued.
By October 19, my condition had worsened, and I had to go to the hospital emergency department. Because of this, we had to cancel our entire trip including multiple hotels we had booked months in advance and fly home early that same day.
We informed the Fairmont Hotel about what happened when checking out, and they said they would report the issue to the restaurant. However, we never heard back from Alpine Social.
This experience completely ruined our trip and left me sick for over a week, from October 16 to 25. Even now, my stomach still isn’t back to normal.
I would strongly caution others to be careful about what they eat at this restaurant. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Alpine Social to anyone.

The first thing is when you walk in no one greets or welcomes you so that was a bummer and also we had to sit ourself which was confusing. Other review said that the burgers didn’t taste good but my family said it was great! The pasta was really good but a little over priced for the amount of food and the shrimp tasted odd. Our server was really nice refilled our water often which was great. Sadly it was snowing but great views after!

We dined at Alpine Social for dinner to celebrate our 60th anniversary. We were greeted by our server Olivia with a beaming smile and such a kind personality. We had the nachos and they were plentiful and so delicious. The drinks were tasty too. I would highly recommend dining at the Alpine Social for a great experience!

Pretty mediocre food. Burger tasted like frozen TV dinner, chicken wings were better. Service was mixed - no one greets you so we were standing in front while restaurant was fairly empty for quite a while until we finally asked if we could sit and they said we could sit anywhere. After being seated, ordering was also slow. That being said our server was nice and friendly. Unfortunately since we are staying at the hotel this was the only choice for a later night dinner.

Had to ask for vegan options but there were a few items that could be made vegan- salad, pasta, nachos, burger etc. Had the mushroom bolognese which was a big portion so nice and filling after a busy day at Lake Louise! Good they had vegan cheese and made a vegan garlic bread. We went back our second night’s stay and I had the mushroom burger made vegan. Was a massive portion, a bit on the salty side but appreciated the vegan cheese option. Very messy to eat though. Would be nice to see items on the menu or more creative options for such a luxury stay! Updated from previous review on 2025-07-15
Came in for happy hour. Was blown away by all the fried food we ordered! best fish&chip ever. the breading was crispy, crunchy, light, perfect amount of moisture VS dry ratio. And the happy hour portion was HUGE. Our server, Paige was outstanding as well. Made our quick snacking hour a delightful and pleasant experience.

We both had the Mediterannean Salad with addition of grilled chicken and a glass of BC Red. The salad was tasty but overpriced, especially adding $16 for a small piece of chicken, but probably reflective of the establishment. Service was excellent

The best item and I think the best value is the brisket or steak that comes with three sides. I had the brisket and it was so juicy and tender. It basically fell apart when I cut into it. We came back the second night for the steak and it was amazing.
Sidenote: we asked the bartenders for options in Banff and check out Sophia's you won't be disappointed

Service was great, bartenders were amazing, atmosphere was also great. Being told parking for 2 hours would be comped and being charged $45 was very disappointing. To reiterate, if you go here for a happy hour, parking will cost $45. Is there signage or anything to show this...no.
