We went to Deer Lodge with a high hope. We expected to be treated well because it was a fine dinning restaurant in a famous tourist place. However, we were very disappointed at the service. The waitress who served our table did not take us serious. We had to wait more than 30 minutes for the foods. During that time, no one paid attention to us. We were starving and thirsty after a long hike. She didn’t come to refill our water even once as well. So, we had to call another server to ask how much longer we had wait for the foods. When she came over, she acted like she didn’t care about her clients. I had to address to her that we waited more than 30 minutes and we were getting late for our schedule. Then she said she would tell the chef about this and walk away without any apologies for the delay (in fact she never notified us about the time we had to wait that long for the foods). It was very unprofessional.
We ordered 3 main courses. One of those was beef tenderloin, and we asked for medium rare. The beef came out VERY WELL DONE and COLD. The meal was not cheap at all but the food quality and the service were worse than casual restaurants.
We left tip though for the kitchen but not for her. To be fair the other two dishes were ok and the other waiters were nice to us, though they didn’t serve our table. Plus, she wasn’t wearing uniform like other servers, we had no idea what her position was. If we had more time, we would ask to talk to their manager. What a disappointing experience!

Recommended dishes: Mushroom Pappardelle

Service was unacceptable, we were here for lunch and it was not busy (should have seen this as a red flag) - no one came to take our order for half an hour after being seated by the host, the staff would look at us but wouldn't come. After a while, we just got up and left.

The hotel receptionist recommended that we make a reservation if we wanted to dine there that evening. Which we hurry to do around 12 p.m., so as not to do it at the last moment.
We ask the gentleman with the tattoo on his forearm for 8 p.m., but it’s only 7:45 p.m. (especially not 15 minutes later).
We arrive there at 7:45 p.m., no reservation in our name.
The young girl can't do anything for us and tells us to go eat at the fairmont or in the village. The reason we booked here was because we didn't want to travel. And I imagine that the fairmont prices are not the same.
Well, she still couldn't do anything about it and it's not her fault.
She is going to talk about it to her colleague on her arm who we recognize by her tattoo on her forearm. He never came to apologize for his mistake.
As luck would have it, they had a cancellation and found us a place.
The girl who took care of us afterwards was great, which means I'm not giving this rating 1 star.
But customer service 0. Tourist restaurant.
The burgers weren't bad, but still a lousy experience.

Great location. Friendly staff, quick order preparation. Deliciously. Free parking for visitors. You can leave the car and walk to the lake, because there may not be any parking spaces further on (three unsuccessful attempts to leave the car on a weekday).

No service. It's wasn't even open . We book for October 14th 7pm . They sent me an email ? saying we should arrive 15 minutes early to see a close sign on the door . Very disappointed ?.

The dining room has a nice feel. The food was very average and the server was very friendly to start, it took an extremely long time to get our main course, then the server disappeared until it was time to pay.

Very cozy place, good food, friendly staff. I think the very best option around Lake Louise Village.

Amazing meal, amazing atmosphere. Such a great portion considering location. Melissa was an amazing waitress and even offered to fill us up on water for hiking. Highly recommend!

The wine was lovely. It promised to be a great evening. Our server was delightful. The tomato whipped Mozarella salad was average. Plastic tomatoes, no olive oil. The Carrot soup was not puréed and was burnt. They agreed.. The pea risotto was a mushy messy. Over cooked rice.. very mushy and thick. The berry dessert was terrible. The pasty was over worked and thick and tough.

The table for two by the indoor lodge entrance despite having a window did not make for a cozy dinner for two. Ask for a window in the main dining space. Food was fine chicken was hot and tasty, risotto was bit cool.

Service was excellent! I felt like our server was doing everything she could to make up for what she knew would be a sub par meal. The food was terrible, save your money and eat elsewhere.

Der Service war zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente wirkt aufgrund der Einrichtung trotz Blockhausstiel nüchtern und nicht sehr gemütlich. Zum Essen darf man keinen grossen Hunger mitnehmen, Die Portionen sind unglaublich klein. Mein Lachsfilet war gerade mal ca. 4 cm breit und die Beilage wenig existent. Insgesamt war der Besuch eher enttäuschend.

We loved our dinner at Deer Lodge - Mt. Fairview Dining Room. The service was excellent and the food was so delicious. The wild boar orecchiette pasta was excellent as were the two salads we ordered. We were in Lake Louise for hiking and by chance our server was also a hiking guide so she was a wonderful resource to us. Highly recommend the Deer Lodge restaurant for food quality and ambiance!
