Our dinner at the Post Hotel Dining Room was truly exceptional! I chose the 4-Course Prix Fixe Table d’Hôte Menu, starting with the Heirloom Tomato Buffalo (fresh mozzarella, basil, aged balsamic) followed by the perfectly cooked Pork Belly with a Thai marinade and delightful touches of pickled green apple and mango gel. The Veal Medallions were tender and flavorful, and the Mixed Berry Crumble with strawberry sorbet was the perfect sweet finale. My wife ordered à la carte, and every dish was as impressive as the last.

The service, from the warm host to the attentive waiter, along with the cozy ambiance, made the evening unforgettable. Sorry, no pictures—we couldn’t wait to dig in!

Highly recommend this place for a fine dining experience!

Fabulous hotel. Bell boys and assistants are too attentive, but very keen, some customers might like that though. TV system doesn’t work effectively and crashes or is slow to respond. Great that a free shuttle to Lake Louise is provided. Food is excellent.

Had the set menu with my wife. Excellent dining experience, had this our first night in the Banff area and was hard to beat anywhere else, including dining options we had at the Fairmont Lake Louise.

I ate in the dining room twice for dinner and once for breakfast. On all occasions the service was excellent and the food was good. The ambiance is cozy but during my time there I didn't enjoy the music. There was a sort of cheesy background music of pop songs everyone would know, but on classical guitar. Then there came a guitarist playing the same type of songs live. It's not that this is bad music, but to me, it isn't well matched to a 5 star dining experience.

Food-wise, from a vegetarian perspective, I really enjoyed the quinoa salad. Lots of interesting flavor combinations and textures. Highly recommend that! The risotto and cauliflower steak were definitely enjoyable but not exceptionally creative.

We ate dinner at the Post Hotel dining room a few days ago. The atmosphere was lovely. The service was friendly and attentive. The wine list is extensive, including many much-appreciated high-quality half bottles. Unfortunately that is the end of the good news.

The food we had was shockingly bad. We started with two items: a tomato, buffalo mozzarella, and basil salad at the suggestion of our server, and also a bison carpaccio. The first of these, essentially a caprese salad, should be served simply with a good olive oil to let the ingredients shine through. Their version was instead served swimming in balsamic vinegar, perhaps to mask its tired mozzarella which was well past its due date, without any hint of fresh buffalo creaminess. We couldn’t finish it. The carpaccio was ok, though lacking anything to dress it up. Our other dishes were similarly disappointing. The chicken pasta with a sauce of morels & chanterelles looked promising on the menu but on the plate was heavy as lead. The salmon entree was plain, dry, and tasteless. When it was time for dessert, our expectations were low. Indeed this was confirmed. The panna cotta was ok though it had a texture close to jello. The overly sweet and gooey blueberry crumble was a fitting finale to this inedible meal.

Drove all the way from Denver, Colorado for a special trip and meal in Banff for my girlfriend’s birthday. We made a reservation to this place months in advance for tomorrow night. We are staying nearby so we popped in this evening to confirm the time of our reservation. Come to find out they cancelled it without notifying us! The snobby woman at the reception stand told us they called me and left a message yesterday, which was a complete lie. On top of that, Open Table sent us a reservation confirmation this morning which I confirmed immediately.

For a place that pretends to be fine dining, it is nothing but classless. Here is a thought- why not recommend something in the area for us to visit instead, given the fact that you ruined our evening? Maybe call another restaurant and help us out? Do you provide customer service of any kind? What trash. All she kept saying was that there is “a problem with the kitchen,” despite the fact that there were plenty of people dining there. I can smell a bear crap lie from a mile away and know when we have been bumped. A classy place? I think not. Save yourself the frustration and go anywhere but here.

We were fortunate enough to dine here. The service was top notch, food was beyond that with every attention to detail. We have dined in many 5 star restaurants and we put this up near the top. The experience was incredible!
And wine selection is world class, wines that we know and hold dear to our hearts they had on their list. A night we will never forget.

The food was delicious even with some minor flaws (we did not complain)- my husband's Benedict eggs were over cooked and my Benedict egg had shells on it - BUT everything tasted delicious and the staff was great. Would try again!

Our experience at the Post Hotel Dining Room in Lake Louise was impeccable. The restaurant offers a prix fixe menu with a wide variety of options to choose from. The dining experience is perfectly complemented by an excellent selection of wines, one of the best I have ever seen. Special thanks to William, the sommelier, who curated the wine list.

The spotlight should be given to some of the specific dishes we tried. Specifically the heirloom tomato appetizer, the Alberta tenderloin, the complementary butter and bread as well as you look very the strawberry and Matcha dessert.
