Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Found this based on high rating on Google, and recommendations on Reddit as we were only in Medicine Hat for a few hours, passing through on a road trip.
I had the torta with pulled pork and refried beans, my husband had the mexicali with fries. The salsa bar was a cool touch, to be able to get the spice level of your choice to have with the complementary chips, or to add to your dish in general.
We would definitely stop in again! What a great find!

Genuinely one of the best casual restaurants in the city. I've tried almost every restaurant in the city, but only a small few have been able to provide a solid price:quality/quantity of food that felt worth it. I couldn't imagine anyone walking away disappointed from The Mexican Hat. It has become a regular stomping grounds.

I've came here 3 times for a basketball tournament and visited this restaurant everytime we're in Medicine Hat. It is a great restaurant and the environment is very friendly. They make you feel like it's your home and the food is just as good as well. 10/10

What a perfect dinner stop between Moosejaw and Calgary! The service and food are outstanding! And it just so happened to be taco Tuesday when I went and meal in the picture was only 10 bucks 🙌🏼
