Stopped in for brunch had their canadian skillet, was a nice small portion, came with your choice of toast.

Was driving through to Drumheller and stopped on a whim at the Hitching Post. We had the best experience! The server was so friendly and accommodating, checking a number of menu options for a food allergy. The food was tasty and plentiful. The brown gravy was perfection. Would absolutely go out if our way to eat here again.

The bar service sucks they dissappear for more than 30 minutes and assume your tipping the change from a drink

Pretty good spot for afternoon lunch. Service was attentive and it's big so likely a good go to even on busy days knowing you'll get a table. I liked it.

My mum and I have been regulars since February 2024. The food is always delicious! What makes the restaurant truly special is the staff. They're all hard working and friendly, and they make a visit more like seeing friends then going out to eat. If you go on the weekends make sure to try out their French toast or pancakes (I love the French toast my mum loves the pancakes). I usually order steak and eggs when I go out for breakfast and the Chef always makes the steak perfectly rare. Mum and I also love their pizza, burgers, and fries. They also have excellent selections if you want a rice bowl. I've tried as many dishes as I can (they switch it up every so often) and I've never had a bad experience.

1st try picked up an order. they forgot $5 Neptune sauce, called, waited on hold for 5 minutes, refused to deliver it (2 blocks away) offered to refund $5 next visit.....sauce for a $28 salmon dish (salmon overcooked) watery gravy, beef in Yorkies was just chopped up (tough) roast, not as advertised. Overall thouroughly unimpressed. Especially at over $70 for 2 apps and 1 main

Decent food and friendly service, but nothing too special. The atmosphere is nice and the portions are fair, but the overall experience felt a bit average. Still worth checking out if you’re in the area, but there’s room for improvement.

we visited the Hitchin Post after attending the Ponoka stampede for the first time. I had heard good reviews of this restaurant but we're sadly disappointed in the food. Our waitress was lovely except she would should have asked why there was 3/4 our both our meals left on our plates. The fish in the fish and chips order was over cooked and rubbery. The Turkey Club had processed turkey roll sandwich meat instead of actual actual turkey and no cheese. The portions of fries were great and the gravy was tasty.

I Eat Here Regularly & There Is Good Service & Largely Good Food But I Was Very Disappointed Today To See My Waitress Drop Clean Napkins On The Floor & Then Return Them To The Napkin Holder, I'm Pretty Sure That You Do Not Need A Food Handling Course To Know Better Than That, I'm Not Sure I Will Return Now!

My daughters pancakes were really good. My other daughter had the kids chicken fingers and she loved the fries. I had the breakfast and it was very good. The sausage I thought tasted different but the hash browns, ham and bacon were on par. The service could certainly have been improved. We said we needed a couple minutes to make up our minds on the menu and she was 15 minutes later. Once we were finished she cleared the plates and was another 10 minutes bringing the bill. The food and value was good but so it was just the service that could have been better
