Swirl Girl
The Female barista (+ sized blonde girl) was being a control freak with where my partner and I were going to sit, she even gave away our table we had picked to the guy in line behind us just so she could tell us it was taken, then insisted she told us to sit at a table right in front of the coffee station/checkout so she could literally watch our every move, we did ask permission for some outside food related request in exchange for a flat rate of guaranteed cash business which was declined and totally understandable... But picking our seats for us is where I draw the line. She was also very aggressive with her body language and was definitely getting close to having an outburst so we chose to take our business elsewhere, mind you, we are probably about 10 years older then her, we do look quite young though, and I definitely received the impression she was trying to make sure we didn't *misbehave* which was honestly so uncomfortable for both me and my partner. It really makes you think, what have we done exactly to earn a judgement call like that. We will not be returning And I would rather buy a board game.

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. We arrived on a busy night and felt no pressure to purchase until we were ready. The selection is awesome, with lots of tables to play, and a cafe downstairs as well if you intend of staying a while. They have lots of weekly events depending on the types of games you prefer.

Easily one of the coolest coffee shops in the city. They offer high quality beverages and snacks. Their barristas, in particular, outcompete every other coffee shop down town, with ease. The place is also a gaming shop and venue, where people can gather to organize gaming events, like board games, card games, and tabletop RPGs! The people are cool and know what they're about.

First time going into Wizard's Loft last night for some games! The server was so kind and helpful in getting us started with how everything works, super cheap to sit and play games for hours. Drinks were a good price, and the cookies were really good too! I'm happy there's a place like this in Red Deer that doesn't rush you out the door or turn into a $150 outing. I'll definitely be back with more friends! 🧙♂️

Just the absolute nicest staff in any hobby shop in Alberta with the best prices on games workshop miniatures i could ask for which has really made the hobby affordable for me which is why I get everything warhammer related from here if I didn’t live an hour away I’d probably spend entire days inside the shop.

Wicked atmosphere. Game Cafe 1st floor, friendly folks, would be a good spot to hangout. 2nd floor all Magic The Gathering best selection of premium peripherals from latest set. Unfortunately singles weren't available at the time from system upgrades but the folks were friendly, looking forward to checking out they're social media and ordering singles from them.

I’ve been a regular at The Wizards Loft for a couple of years now, and I can honestly say it’s my favorite local game store! They have an amazing selection of board games, miniatures, and TCGs, so there’s always something new to discover. The customer service is phenomenal – the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help, on top of that, the coffee and snacks are fantastic, making it a great place to relax and hang out. But what really makes The Wizards Loft special are the friends I’ve made there – the community is welcoming and full of great people. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, friendly, and comfortable spot for gaming or to hang out with a coffee.

I've only visited a couple of times but the last time, I was with my son. I get real bad anxiety with the crowds upstairs (though they do the best with the space they have) but my son absolutely loved it. It was like he was in a dream with all the board games, pokemon cards and people trading cards with each other. He was shy with interacting with the employees but they were kind and helped him have a great visit. It meant a lot to me to see my son so excited and at home, so we will definiyely be visiting again. Thanks guys.

I was looking for the newest Lorcana set and my brother in law recommended this place. I was absolutely delighted at how great it is! The gentleman that helped me upstairs was incredibly nice and knowledgeable on Lorcana as well! Sadly, I don’t live in Red Deer but I’ll be back every single chance that I get. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!
