This was hands down the most confusing dining experience of my life. We popped in for lunch on a quiet Sunday afternoon and were greeted by… absolutely no one. The restaurant was completely empty, yet the staff looked personally offended by our presence. No hello, just a blank stare.

Our server brought napkins and only napkins, so we had to specifically request cutlery like it was a VIP upgrade. The whole time felt like we’d wandered into a private event we definitely weren’t invited to. The best word to describe the experience? Awkward. Painfully awkward. I have never dined anywhere that I legitimately felt completely and totally unwanted.

To top it off, there were trays of cookies sitting out on dining tables while other guests hovered over them and touched them like a free-for-all bake sale, which was… less than appetizing.

Food was ok. We won’t be back.

Confections Cake Co. in St. Albert was such a great find because it's one of the only Java stops open in the area of the Arden Theatre.

It's a cozy space with an antiquated feel. The service was super friendly and helpful. And the coffee and pastries were great.

Brittany made our cake and cupcakes for our wedding on September 13, 2025, and they were absolutely stunning. She truly brought my vision to life with her creativity and attention to detail. The cake was everything I could have dreamed of and more—the beautiful sunflower design, rustic wood-grain detail, and touches of berries and pinecones tied in perfectly with our décor and sunflower theme. It became such a gorgeous centerpiece for our dessert table, and it looked just as amazing as it tasted.

Brittany was so wonderful to work with from start to finish—friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure everything was perfect. Our guests raved not only about how beautiful the cake and cupcakes looked, but also how delicious they were. The flavors were spot on, and everyone could tell how much care she put into her baking.

I would highly recommend Brittany to anyone looking for a cake artist who can make your vision come alive. She went above and beyond for us, and I am so grateful she played such a sweet part in our special day.

We ordered a 6 inch wedding cake from Confections cake co and some cupcakes for our wedding.
I am extremely grateful of the service that was provided and how delicious everything was! We had a carrot cake with cream cheese icing and had red velvet with cream cheese icing aswell and man oh man absolutely stunning and scrumptious!
We are so happy with how our cake design came out and how the cupcakes were.
We had a little set up for all of our desserts and they delivered and set up while we were out doing photos. When we came back we were blown away on design, quality and how beautiful it looked.

This was the second major family event where we’ve ordered a cake from Confections Cake Company St Albert. They obviously take great pride in what they do and the attention to detail. I provided a photo of a cake I liked with real flowers and they recreated it. It was BEAUTIFUL!! Not only did it look good, it was light and delicious. We will order from them again. Thank you!

I have had many great experiences at Confections! Their high tea is incredible and my tiny human loves their cookies! They have fun cocktails and great beer! 10/10 recommend stopping in for dessert, drinks and good vibes!!

5 Stars – A Delightful Breakfast Experience!

We had such a wonderful visit to Confections Cake Co. in St. Albert this morning! Brittany is always such a bright presence—so friendly and genuinely engaging with everyone who walks through the door.

The Belgian waffle options were amazing, with just the right balance of flavour. My senior parents can be quite particular about how their eggs and bacon are cooked, and the staff went above and beyond to get everything just right. That kind of attention to detail really stood out.

The lattes and americanos were smooth, rich, and perfectly prepared—just what we needed to round out a great breakfast.

Thank you to Brittany and the team for another outstanding experience. We'll definitely be back soon!

Not user friendly. Each time I've come. Staff are nowhere in sight. Have to seek them out. And young girl today was indifferent to serving ot helping.
