I got home today. Sat on the couch. But something was different.
For context, I had gone to east side Mario’s for a weird in between dinner and lunch. I know….. risky.
But I came through the door. Got to my seat. And we got to business.
A young man, Liam, glided around the corner and greeting me with his sparkling blue eyes. Set the tone. It was on.
Soon after, an angel appeared. His name was Connor.
These two made the impossible happen.
I’m a 21 year girl, my friend not much older. Indecisive. Girl dinner-ish. Scared. Unfamiliar with the Italian culture. Up against a big menu with an empty stomach.
One minute in:
BOOM, drinks ordered. Liam left….
Two minutes in:
LIAM IS BACK! With the DRINKS!
Peach frozee of sorts, recommend by both of the boys (they’re not afraid to enjoy a fruity cocktail, not too nonchalant for those activities) it hit. AMAZING!
Three minutes in:
The angel returns with hands full of bread, caeser salad, and potato bacon soup- I AM SMILING!
Connor has suggested a pesto Alfredo penne. This is new… but there’s more. Protein??! Veggies?! What do we do?!
Connors got it: add veg and prawns.
Connor leaves.
A bit later:
Food is amazing. Vibes are vibing. I’m bloated tbh but it’s okay…. Connor let us know, there’s desert.
It was my birthday, 21st, so naturally the cheesecake joined us.
Thank you guys. Thank you eat side. Thank you Italy. I will be back so soon, and so much.
Every time we go to this restaurant in St Albert they cram us into a very tight space. Asked for larger table but are always refused. Must be the right minded managers rule
Had the most tastiest double bacon carbonara on their lunch menu oh gosh. The service was great! The mini trio dessert was the best! Shared it with two others and it was perfect sizing 🤤🤤🤤
Great food and service price was awesome will definitely be going back there to eat with my family
Definitely not worth 28.00 it for sure isn't a lb of lasagna do not waste your money on this. My son ended up going to get a burger after dinner!
Great place to go with friends.
Our server Sadie was absolutely amazing, so quick and friendly! I would come back just to be served by her again.
I had a great experience at East Side Mario's! My server was Kayla D. Her customer service was fantastic — she was friendly, attentive, and ensured I had everything we needed throughout our meal. The staff was welcoming from the moment we walked in, and the food came out quickly and hot. It's always nice to see a team that cares about making guests feel comfortable and valued. Will be coming back. Keep up the great work!
Staff and food are always top shelf!
We have always had a good experience at this location. We mentioned that we were there celebrating a birthday and our birthday girl was offered a dessert to celebrate her birthday which was a lovely surprise.

One of our favorite places
This is our second visit to East Side Mario’s and it has been absolutely incredible! The lasagna is the best I’ve ever had. Unfortunately I don’t remember our servers name either time we’ve been there but both were exceptional - it was also very nice to have the owner (very sharp dressed man) come check in on us to make sure everything was going well. This is our new family favourite restaurant and we’ll be back again and again! Thank you for the wonderful food and experience!
Great place to have dinner. The atmosphere is so comfortable, the waitress Manal is exceptional, and the owner is very personable. Will be back for future date nights.
We have gone to East Side Mario's various times and always had great service and great food. This time when we went for lunch with friends. The service was poor.We had to ask for our Salads after at least 20 minutes. One of our friends got her salad almost immediately. The soup was a bit of a wait Then I asked for more soup The waitress said it wasn't quite ready they ran out. Then that took some time to get another bowl of soup.Everyone at the table was finished thier lunch. So when I got my soup I had to hurry and eat it and it was very hot. My husband ordered a pizza 🍕 which took forever. It was at least 30 minutes. He asked the host why it was taking so long everyone else had gotten their food. The host checked she said the order was only put in 14 minutes ago. It sure seemed longer than that. My friend had a rotten tomato in her salad. She was not impressed. Overall this time at East Side Mario's was not a good dining experience. They were very busy and seemed not to have enough servers working.
Sigh! inflation has hit east side Mario's prices are up from last year and portions are very down in size . Will no longer be attending this restaurant as their main return point wasn't taste as it was portion . Had a good run
