I picked up 4 dozen east code oysters (4 varieties) and a pound or so of the bay scallops from Effing last Sat. So fresh and so good. Shucking was a bit of a challenge since I forgot my shucking knife but a friend with a butter knife did the job. The scallop ceviche was so simple and amazing. I would post some pics but Rob will kill me for adding hot sauce to our fresh oysters? This is the place for your seafood needs in the Edmonton area!!!

I’m thrilled to share my experience with Effing Seafood after winning a seafood platter for two. I typically go there to purchase their amazing oysters. Their staff is knowledgeable, friendly and genuine. My wife and I just became proud parents of a beautiful baby. ?And after being sleep deprived after our first week post home birth. I received a call that I had won a platter for two. I had completely forgotten I had entered this contest…. But what an amazing gift to have as a new family. The instructions are easy to follow. It was a great way for us new parents to have a mini date night! Thank you for the amazing food and amazing service!

Fantastic experience getting oysters! Hearing the owner’s passion about the different varieties, tastes, location, etc. was an awesome experience. It’s rare to find businesses that truly love what they do, but it makes all the difference.I’ll admit, I wasn’t a fan of oysters. I had a bad experience once and swore off them. I jumped back on the horse today and am so glad I did! We were recommended to grab a bunch of different varieties and treat it more like a “wine tasting” than just a “smash them down one after the other” deal and it led to such a fun and memorable evening.All in all, a very cool place with great staff and great selection.
