The sandwiches here are always great and the deli has an awesome selection of meats and cheeses. The full sized cakes are tasty, but recently they have been frozen when purchased from the display case. The smaller desserts look nice, but many taste the same, whereas the donuts are amongst the best. There is a large selection in the shop, and they carry many unique items, but it can get pricey. Parking is ample and the staff has always been helpful.
Ari is amazing! We love coming in for the treats and the exceptional service!!
While I have had good experience with eating Marcato products i.e. baked goods etc. I must say that I ate a most disappointing New York pastrami sandwich yesterday. Had I not had it to go, I would have retuned it within one bite. The taste that it left in my mouth compelled me to stop at a local Safeway and buy something at the deli counter.
I emphasize that this is a first time experience at Marcato, which will not dissuade me to eat from there again. But I will be leaving the New York Pastrami sandwich off my,menu options.
Ordered some baked goods. Everything looked so good, unfortunately it was lacking. The eclair I ordered had a stray walnut on the bottom which is extremely dangerous for people with allergies. No flavour on the cannoli either
Love shopping there!! My favourite place!
The layout isn’t the best just with how busy it is… Feel the bakery staff are always in a bad mood. Multiple different visits they seem like they’re so annoyed to help/pack up treats. Would probably help if you had a number/ticket system (like you do at the meat counter) for the bakery counter as well… Lots of stock and we find ourselves coming here at least once a week. Good prices on fresh veggies and fruit.
Poor layout, overcrowded and overpriced
Variety of cakes and all delicious

Was excited to try a cannoli for the first time a couple weeks ago. Googled it and it said the shells are filled when you order them at an Italian Bakery so they stay crispy. The one I ordered was picked from a a stack that was already made. When I drove 2 minutes hoke it was like a soft sad crepe wrapped around the filling. I was very disappointed.

We went to Caffè and store. Lots of variety in both places. Prices were good. Liked and wipl be bavk
I went yesterday and had a red velvet, cream horn and chocolate dipped cream puff, and to be honest it tasted artificial; I didn’t enjoy it at all. On the other hand, there Nutella doughnuts were excellent and the staff were friendly.
Adamo and his staff provide friendly service and the best quality products .
The pastries and cakes are amazing.
Enjoy a great shopping experience with great value.
Great place to shop. Even has some gluten free options in the grocery section. though no gluten free fresh baked goods
Fun fact: every birthday cake that I’ve ever bought in my entire adult life has been from the Italian Bakery's Mercato in St Albert. I don’t make it to this location often anymore but when I do I make the most of it. Get your groceries for the week, enjoy some food and drinks that they don’t have at your local grocery store and make sure you sit back at the cafe/bakery and enjoy some espresso and gelato. Also, pick yourself up a spicy sandwich on your way out for lunch and you won’t be disappointed.
