Socrates Restaurant & Catering

Had supper at Socrates in St Albert on Friday night, June 6. Had beef dip with Caesar salad. The salad was very fresh and tasty. The beef dip was awesome. Beef was tender & melt in your mouth. The atmosphere was very nice and our waiter was very pleasant and very efficient. We will be back. Great place to eat and portions are huge.

Used to be a good place to eat, I was just seated at a dirty table, served cold food, and plate taken away while still chewing. $28 for bad service and bad food.

Just go to Sobeys and buy some eggs, this place has gone down hill.

This was our second visit, and I can now say with certainty: this place is toxic. The servers are openly rude, and the atmosphere feels more like a battleground than a breakfast spot. I found a hair in my food — truly disgusting — but didn’t even bother mentioning it. Our server’s attitude from the start was so abrasive, I couldn’t stand another interaction. My wife’s meal was cold, and she barely touched it. When I left a 5% tip (more than they deserved), our server rolled her eyes. The tension between staff was obvious and uncomfortable. This place is the definition of poor service and bad energy. We walked out and won’t ever return.

I now understand why this place is always packed in the morning time....

Finally just went and checked out this gem with my husband for supper and the service was not only welcoming and friendly, the food was excellent, best clubhouse sandwich I have ever had.

I would imagine the whole menu is delicious, hence why the early bird crowd is so large. ..and no it was not packed at supper time, just to throw it out there. I would highly recommend this diner to anyone!

We usually go for breakfast but we have been there a few times for supper. The food is unbelievable and tastes like a homemade cooked meal. Very big portions and you will never go home hungry. The best part is the excellent service from Jason. He made sure everything was good and topped up our beverages. Please stay open in the evenings because we are tired of the fast food garbage.
