We ordered take-out for 3 from Taste of Ukraine the other day. The website lists closing at 8:30 pm; however, the door shows 8:00 pm closing. I arrived at 8:00 pm to pick up and had to wait since our order wasn’t ready even though we gave half hour heads-up to them. We all order the Sampler, which doesn’t include any protein - so I ordered the kubasa x3 with it. It came to just under $105 w/tip - the kubasa was $10 each extra and was only the size of a Smokey. While waiting for our order, I noted the restaurant is trying to capture European old world charm in its decor; however, it’s now dark & very dusty overall including the glassware that overhangs the till. I could see that much of the glassware could use a good wash! I couldn’t tell if the perogies were good or not because all we got for $105 was a big ball of mushed dough and there was no butter added to keep the perogies from sticking together. We all ordered cheddar perogies but I’m not certain I seen or tasted any cheddar in the big pile of mushed dough. I’m not certain how many perogies were in the ball of mushed dough. We got 2 cabbage rolls each, which were meh…my Ukrainian aunt didn’t eat the cabbage since it was a bit tough from not being thoroughly cooked. The Nalysnyky was meh…and I didn’t eat the Pyrizhky since it wasn’t that good. I wouldn’t recommend eating here for the price and overall food quality. Uncle Ed’s in north Edmonton is excellent alternative with a better price. Also, Saskitoba is better priced and all you can eat. Don’t eat here!!
Fantastic location really great food. The atmosphere is so beautiful. A taste of history makes me feel connected with home. I always am welcomed with open arms. The service is great. Food is phenomenal.
Always a fantastic experience visiting this family restaurant. Great food and service.
Wonderful ambience in this St Albert gem. The food is exactly what you hope for; delicious and filling! Kind staff, not to mention supporting a business that stands with Ukraine. Perfect date night spot

I recommend!
The borscht here is simply wonderful, and the pancakes are incredibly tasty. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, an ideal place for those who want to enjoy authentic Ukrainian hospitality.

Great restaurant, very delicious food, very nice Ukrainian interior
Good food, and if you love pickles, visit in Sept. Very tasty and unique dishes.
Restaurantji Recommends
I ordered Meatballs and Gravy with 8 perogies. The meatballs were very dry (I almost consumed my entire beer washing them down), the gravy was almost non existent and the perogies were pasty.

A nice sized restaurant that has a warm atmosphere to it. Something on the menu would appeal to anyone-the food was delicious with good sized portions. The 4 of us walked away very happy. My only regret is that 3 of us are Ukrainian and we don’t understand a word.
Parking: The restaurant was probably 3/4 full when we left and there plenty of spaces available.

The best restaurant in St. Albert. Everything was delicious, and a visitor from Ottawa ended up buying a liter of Borshest. To take home as there is nothing like it there. Thank you so much for hosting us this evening.
