The service at The Cajun House was absolutely 5-star — friendly, attentive, and quick. Unfortunately, the food didn’t come close to matching that level. It reminded me of “truck stop” diner fare. The vegetables tasted like they came straight out of a frozen bag, and the plate presentation was sloppy. If quantity is meant to justify the price, it still misses the mark — it just wasn’t appealing.
I ordered a medium-rare steak and it arrived well overcooked. The oysters were the highlight of the meal and the sangria was definitely tasty, but beyond that, nothing stood out.
Ambience is very old-school — not fancy, more of a dated vibe, so I’d give that 3 stars.
Paying $80 (including tip) for a mediocre meal just isn’t justifiable. I expect better quality at that price point. I’m honestly surprised by all the rave reviews — it feels like standards for good food have slipped. Not sure I’d return.

One of my favorites spots in St Albert. Always consistently great food and service. I've been eating here for 20 years.

Consistently high quality food, never have had a bad meal. Had the arctic char and it didn't disappoint. The Banana ice-cream sponge cake was superb, make sure you leave room because it is a generous portion.
The “unimpressed” door greeter asking us for our reservation information in an empty restaurant was weird.. Not what I expected or hoped for in this restaurant. Bland bland bland! Also our waitress (although very nice) served me with the wrong dish. I’ve never paid so much for food that unimpressive ever.

My Mussels main order was excellent. Others at our table had Grouper, Arctic Char, and Pork Medallions. Everyone was pleased. Decent portions. Price point at $20 plus is right for this dining experience. Reasonable wine list. Menu is targeted at mature clientele. Recommend for solid value and quality.

My Long-Time Love Affair with This Cajun Gem!
If you're looking for genuinely delicious Cajun food with a side of fantastic service, stop scrolling – you've found your spot. I've been a regular at this particular Cajun restaurant for over twelve years now, and honestly, it feels like coming home every time I walk through the door.
Seriously, the food here is just consistently incredible. They have an absolutely massive menu, which is great because there's always something new to try, but I usually can't resist my tried-and-true favorites. My usual go-to is a hearty bowl of their rich, flavorful Gumbo. It's got that perfect depth of flavor, all the right spices, and always hits the spot. And then, if I haven't already hit my limit (which, let's be real, I usually have but power through), I dive into the Pasta Jambalaya. It's so good, perfectly spiced, loaded with goodness, and just incredibly comforting. I swear, every time I promise myself I'll just have a little, but then I end up completely overindulging because it's all just that delicious. It's a happy problem, though!
But it's not just the food that keeps me coming back on a regular basis; the staff here are absolutely top-notch. They're always friendly, super attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely make you feel welcome. After all these years, they know what good service means.
If you're in the mood for some authentic, finger-licking good Cajun food with fantastic service and a menu that’ll keep you coming back for more, this is absolutely the place to be. Just try not to overindulge too much... or maybe do, it's worth it! You won't regret it.

Sorry this is not Cajun food! Maybe Denny's quality Cajun food. As a son of the south I was overjoyed when I found those place. The seafood jambalaya tast e like chef boyrdee made. If you want extremely bland Cajon food go here. 2 hours after I ate and I still taste spaghetti-os

Exceptional service. Very good protein options, and two days later I’m still thinking about the mud pie! Definitely a must visit when in St Albert. Very affordable too!

I my coworkers and myself found this place close by our work site and stopped in for supper. The food was delicious and authentic Cajun. We had the jambalaya, pork tenderloin and Blacken Chicken Caesar. If you looking for bold flavours and good food, I would definitely recommend it.

We have been enjoying the award-winning Cajun experience for over 30 years! A great menu with a variety of portion sizes, delectable daily and seasonal specials, a superb children's menu, replete with gluten free options and a wine list and bar service @ reasonable prices. And the desserts? Outstanding! A great place for lunch or dinner!
