Woooooooooww! I am overwhelmed with joy and flavor. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of spicy bbq sauce. 10/10. That was so good and I was so full but I wanted more. My fiancé ordered the 3/4 pound brisket platter and it was very tender and juicy. He got traditional and smoky bbq sauce as sides and the traditional bbq sauce I'd buy in a bottle . It was the perfect bbq sauce. We ordered the corn fritters and they were HUGE should have went with a half order. The only thing I was disappointed on were the sides. We ordered Mac and cheese and potato salad. I wish I would have paid more attention to the size of the sides cause when I opened the bag at home I was blown away. Next time I'll know to ask for a larger size. Overall, great service took about 20 mins from ordering. Hopefully it turns into a sit down restaurant with a beer selection. I can see it being the next best restaurant on the south side. Super stoked to have found this gem. I highly recommend you check it out. Update: 8 days later and I've order 2 more times cause I couldn't get enough of that brisket. Great job guys.

Take out restaurant with easy online ordering, and food was ready when they said it would be. Fritters were good nothing extraordinary but satisfying. Brisket was good nicely sliced and not dry we did think it could have used a little more flavor, coconut chicken tenders were a little too sweet for me but cooked nicely. Overall not my first choice for BBQ but it was decent.

I put a three only because it’s not a place that you can eat. Get it and go.

I am so dissatisfied with this place. Originally, I thought it was a great concept. Carry out only, quick and easy. It didn't escape me that the menu looked a lot like Sourdough Mining Company's. I love me some good BBQ, so we placed an order. We got a BBQ box for 2. The baked beans were Bush's. They covered the lack of meat with the corn fritters, so you couldn't see there were barely any ribs in it. While the meat was good, for the price, there just wasn't enough of it. I would suggest if you are going to order, get the meat ala carte. Seems super expensive for just corn fritters and canned baked beans. Other than the concept of take out and go, they seriously need to do better.

Love love love this place. Hoping they get a sit down restaurant soon. So far I have only had their burnt ends but absolutely love it. Their Mac n cheese is awesome too.

That same Sourdough mining company flavor, but better. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Food was fantastic! As it was our first time trying this place we wanted to try as much as we could. I believe the food was well prices for the portions of food you get. We got the box for 2, pulled pork, brisket, and burnt ends, with corn fritters and 2 sides. We also tried 4 of the BBQ sauces we enjoyed the traditional the best. All the meats were perfectly cooked! A note for the business would be the box for 2 should let the meat be optional like the sides are for the box.

This is the newest BBQ joint in town. It's BBQ to go, they have curbside pick up and you can order online.I judge a BBQ joint heavily on their brisket and ribs. I would say this place did a pretty decent job with both. I'm used to the brisket sliced thinner, that may have helped on the tenderness a bit. The ribs are not dry which I like. I do wish their BBQ sauce had more ooomph to it. Not sure if they make their BBQ sauce themselves, but I think it could be better.Unfortunately, they felt short on the burnt ends for me. They're too chunky and hard, not very tender in my opinion. Also felt a bit salty, even with the sauce.I also ordered the potato salad and coleslaw, but those were no winners for me either. Potato salad tasted a bit too eggy. The coleslaw tasted bland, straight up cabbage and mayo with maybe some mustard seeds. I'd be willing to try again with the other items in the menu, but as of right now, I'm not hooked.

Sorry for the 2 but chicken was dry steak bites dry mac n cheese tastes basic noodles with possible Velveeta mix. The 2 is for customer service and corn fritters were good. Oh p.s baked beans seem like just out of can.

We wanted BBQ on our last night in Anchorage. Those food did not disappoint! What a Friday night feast! Thanks for great tasting brisket and burnt ends! Sides were awesome as well - but the fried corn fritters…? Amazing - especially with the honey butter!

I was looking for more of a flavorful taste… to be honest it was mediocre. Baked beans canned, ribs not too much flavor, brisket Mac and cheese thumbs down. Literally taste like store bought Mac and cheese with brisket on top. The only reason why I went from 1 star to 3 is because the server was kind and efficient when taking the order, and the potato salad is the best thing they have going! I had to leave an honest review! AJ’s & Smokehouse 10 times better!
