Gallo's Mexican Restaurant

I visited hoping for some good Mexican food and was heavily disappointed. We ordered fried calamari and ended up receiving something that resembled fish sticks. We also ordered a burrito that tasted like the frozen burritos, “El Monterey Burritos.” Lastly, I ordered the chicken enchiladas with a side of rice and beans which was the best meal out of the three. The enchiladas had some green sauce that wasn’t spicy at all and very acidic. As for the dining area it was very dim and filled with lots Gnats. Overall, the experience was poor.

Great food and very friendly staff. We gambled, but glad that we went. We were in a group of 10 and all were very satisfied.

We enjoyed the beef tacos, beef enchiladas, spinach enchiladas, the halibut tacos, the beef fajitas, rice, beans and salsa. Delicious! We were headed for Taco King and our Uber driver recommended Gallos—owned by the Taco King local family, but a step above fast food. Great dinner. My mom was drinking the milder salsa.

love the decor and the ambiance. the food was mediocre and bland. I normally go to another Mexican food restaurant but decided to try someplace new. fajitas are my go to at all Mexican food restaurants and this place isn't one I would recommend to others. service was ok but also a little confusing. dirty silverware and at the end my husband went and asked for a box as our server never came back to check on us. enjoyed the company of my husband and the bright colors everywhere

Ask some of the locals where I could get some good Mexican food and they suggested here. I've had lunch here 4 days in a row. This the only place I'll go to when I'm in town

Girlfriend and I always get the fajitas for 2!! Best fajitas in Anchorage in my opinion. And pretty decent service.

Came here for a Cinco de Mayo lunch with my son in law. Served us beer and cocktails in plastic glasses at the bar. Food was disgusting. Tasted like olf fish fry. My Mexican dish had no garnish (lettuce tomatoes) which I thought was standard. I asked for some lettuce and tomatoes and was charged 6 extra dollars. The music was so loud, but when we mentioned it was too loud they just turned it up. Very unprofessional. Never will I return. Thanks for ruining out day.

Enchiladas was delish! Even though I got full off appetizers, I ate all my Enchiladas dinner, and even the desserts were superb 👌🏼
